In Copplestone's gangsters range, he has the "Street Toughs" pack. The figure on the far left of this picture is one of the figures of that pack unconverted (and showing the figures I've converted him into):

That particular set is my favorite of all Copplestone sets. I have used them for two projects so far, a third on its way...

I think I will leave my wife, empty our accounts and run away with that boat, if she'll have me...

I love those asylum orderlies! I may have to purchase yet another copy of the Street Toughs  :)

I'm going with you. That boat has even comic books.  What more could one want? Okay, a pack of Street Toughs too.

EvilC, that is an absolutely wonderful crew and ship. I am shaking with envy  ;)
You have inspired me to decide that once I eventually tire of Wars of the Roses (some time around Midsummer I feel), my long-delayed tramp steamer crew will be my next project.
Definitely.
And I shall be incorporating a few of these Copplestone figures too.
Brilliant. Thank you.

Good news. Good times.

Absolutely beautiful - and I love it that we can say that about bits of lead, plastic, wood, paint, etc. It means it's art!
Speaking of art.... Really, this is wonderful stuff - and Hammers, love both uses of the street toughs. It's true, they're beautiful minis, and by chance I'm using them for something other than their intended purpose for one of the LPL rounds as well (well, two or three of the minis anyway). There's just something about them!

That rust bucket of a boat looks like it's going to fall apart at any minute.   :o

Very nice.   :-*

Unless I'm mistaken that's the ship that features in the latest Dallimore/Foundry book! Which is perfect because I would like to take the opportunity to say that your ship has been one of several sources of inspiration for me :)

You are not mistaken; that is the very ship  :)
I've had her for a few years and only now got to giving her a crew (as well as furnishing the crew quarters.)
There's still work to do on her: I want to make a couple lifeboats/launches to put on the top deck, and I need to finish the captain's quarters.

Evilcartoonist.

I've got a stack of Heroquest rats. No self-respecting rust bucket should be without a few. Want some sent over?

I've got a few rats myself (not Heroquest), so no thank you, but I much appreciate the offer :)

Wow. Off boat they were great but on board they really shine.  What a fantastic ship.   I don't know if I have the nerve to try conversions of those toughs but you and the captain sure make it look worthwhile.

There's something about Copplestone figs that make them a great base for conversion... seems a bit of a silly statement, but I was particularly inspired by some KKBB to produce some Pulp era figs as well.

Okay, so the thread may be getting a tad stale, but I really need to say the figures and ship are superb!  :-*
