Impressive! Nice little armoury.  Whose cannibals and canoes?

Actually, the guy's real name IS Chick Lewis and he's (as am I - "Baron Eduard Geuden de St-Gillis") a member of the Bengal Club:

He's been a devoted (colonial) wargamer for many years and on top of that a true gentleman, though no longer a friend of mine since he acquired this steamer  lol

That kills me. Just the other day Björn and me were talking about ideas for a steamer but were more thinking along the lines of building the decks as seperate "terrain pieces"...

Now I'm not in the mood any longer... :'(

Where did those Deep Ones come from????

I must have more Deep Ones......................... ;D

Yes that is an outstanding ship.  It makes my custom job look like a tug boat.  Well actually it is a tug boat but...still very impressive stuff.

Thanks for your positive comments.  Now that I'm a member of lead adventure I'll answer a few of the questions:

Poiter50 asked:
>What make is the short skirted filly leaning over, firing a pistol at the monster? <

She is from a three-pack blister by UK Grenadier from the late '80s or early '90s, but I converted her uzi to an automatic pistol so she would fit better in a '20s and '30s environment.  I think she is an exceptional sculpt.

Malamute  asked:
>Whose cannibals and canoes? <

Those are the Old Glory "Pirates" line cannibals.  Very few people realize that there are two versions of the canoe itself, since this was never advertized.  When I accidentally found out I just HAD to purchase a second canoe.  I highly recommend those cannibals.  Lots of character.

gauntman asked:
>Where did those Deep Ones come from?<

I have been collecting Deep Ones for 20 years now.  They are Grenadier, Partha troglodytes, Rafm, and half a dozen other manufacturers of froggy-looking aquatics.  The Dagon Priests are my conversions.  On two occasions when those guys were on the table I was informed that I had committed SERIOUS Blasphemy against GW figure collectors.  I grafted Grenadier deep one heads, hands, and feet onto really old Citadel Ringwraith bodies.  Those Ringwraiths are apparently so rare and valuable that my informants were visibly going green around the gills seeing them used as chopshop conversion fodder.  Their dismay made me like my Dagon Priest conversions even more !

Will do, Professor.

However, since I put the photos up, three gamers have asked Richard Houston to build copies of the ship.  I gave him my permission to build as many as he wants.  Richard says he is willing to build similar tramp steamers, as long as the name is not 'Venture' and you ask for a few custom modifications.  You could be the fourth.  Just contact Patrick at the Virtual Armchair General, who is the email go-between.

Chick
