I was bought some rather nice 54mm figures for Xmas - could not resist getting into painting them. It's also got me thinking about doing a "small" ahem.. game with them. Sure in the loft somewhere i have a box of the Airfix cowboys to add to them. Madness i know but - when you get that itch - you gotta scratch it.

Deedles,
Both those big boys are lovely but the guy with the ponch, he's top class. Who makes these?

Lovely paintwork there Deedles.  I'd also be tempted to game with them, but the specter of 54mm terrain would be too much...unless I could source a bunch of toy soldier stuff ro cheap (we got my nephew a great Old West playset from New Ray for Christmas.  Some not-bad stuff in there.

How did I miss these big fellas?

Great paintjobs on both, Deedles, but that poncho is rather special indeed.

Yeah.. Now hard can it be up upscale and do some simple MDF buildings eh.... I know someone who has a laser cutter who may be able to help. A few tents, scratch built , and easy enough to pick toy animals up...

Not planning on going too mad... He says.... I said that about the 28mm collection...

Lovely work Deedles  8)

Once upon a time, many years ago, I converted some of those 54mm Airfix Cowboys etc, for Western Gunfight Games using some very nice handguns sold then, if I remember, by Hinchliffe. They looked good, I thought, I may come across them one day, packed away in a box.  :)

Anyway, I then repented went back to 28mm (25mm then) for all the same reasons of practicality and scale  ;)

Great stuff.
Nice colour choices.

Although I do feel that I should add that this is the skinniest version of that fella that I have ever seen.
More like a Diet-Duke.
 ;)

Painting is still top drawer, though.
