Star Trek Attack Wing Klingons
« on: April 01, 2014, 12:13:28 AM »
So something different from me. I recently got into Star Trek Attack Wing by Wizzkids (based on X-Wing from FFG) great game, the models, pretty decent, the paintjobs, not so good. so I decided to repaint them. pictures aren't great I'm sorry to say

Great technique. Needs more details though IMO, and the old Trek modeller in me is furiously yammering through bars of his cage about inaccuracies.
History viewed from the inside is always a dark, digestive mess, far different from the easily recognizable cow viewed from afar by historians.

These re-paints look awesome to me, and infinitely better than the pre-paints. Terrific work  :-*

Valiant effort, but repainting that botched K'Tinga sculpt is like putting lipstick on a pig.  I just cannot get past that sideways bridge module.  How the Chinese factory managed to screw that up is beyond me, and why WizKids hasn't gotten it fixed in multiple iterations of the same model boggles the mind.

The others look nice, though.

You know? I never noticed that before, but I'll not be un-seeing that, ever...

Weirdly, I searched some images of same, and the 3d renderings I've found have the tall piece properly behind the oblate.  ::)

That said, it had paint on it already; talent like that should go to the unpainted. You know, like the mountain in my basement.  ;)

Took me a while to register exactly what was wrong the first time I saw one.  Once you see it it's just maddening, though.  Made me very happy that I could play STAW without ever using that class, at least back in the early days.  Not sure how true that is now, but I know my beloved Klingons aren't dominating the game like they once did.  Blasted Borg.  :)

I wonder if they've put out enough Cardassian stuff to make them viable as a force without having to lean on their Dominion allies?

Really? A mere two and a half years? Pfff.

I remember the great old days on TMP; decades might pass, I say, DECADES!  >:D
