The downed AT_ST looks fantastic both in the pose and the paint job. The gian speeder is that the action fleet one? The paint job looks good, the spots look surprisingly realistic.

Awesome thread!

Very inspirational. I especially love (and am jealous of) all the vehicles. Great work. Not much else to be said, really.

One suggestion though: A stripe of color for the speeder. It looks great now, but I think a color accent would really make it shine.

And one question: Did you ever settle on a rules set? If not Blasters And Bulkheads is a great rule set and is very specifically made to game space operas.

Looking forward to more.

Thank you everyone.

jimbibbly, weathering powder huh? Sounds like my next experiment subject has been selected for me. Good thing I have so many Gian speeders.

kidterminal, the speeder is from the Gain Speeder & Theed Palace Action Fleet set. I bought a ridiculous number of those sets just to get the Action Fleet scale Battle Droids. (See Photo #1) Those battle droids are the perfect size to work with WEG figures. (See Photo #2) The unintended consequence is I have a lots of Gian speeders to play with. I figure if I re-paint a bunch of them and hide them in the background of street scenes they won't be so obviously the same vehicle. Movies do this all the time.

eMills, great idea. I'll make sure to do some pin stripes on the next speeder. As for rules I think I'll be sticking with the West End Games Star Wars RPG rules. They're light enough to be miniatures friendly. I might also consider using Pulp Alley. I haven't had the chance to check out Blasters And Bulkheads yet. Does that system use the same base rules as Super System and Chaos in Cairo? If so, I'll throw that in with the other possibilities. So many games, so little time to game.

@Michka thanks I thought it was. I have the WOTC gian speeder but not the action fleet one I intend to get an action fleet one as the WOTC one is a bit on the bendy side.

Never had the WEG books. I've been casually looking for them recently, though I am in no hurry to get them right now.

Pulp Alley is a great set and would work well for most of the setting, but I'm not sure how it would handle Jedi.

BnB is indeed based on the same rules as SuperSystem and Chaos in Cairo. It is set up to be bands of Heroes or bands of Heroes with some Henchmen pitted against each other. Very heavily based on Star Wars for the setting.

kidterminal , was it a Gian Speeder or was it a Flash Speeder? I only ask because I always wanted a Flash speeder, but never found one that wasn't bent to hell.

I find copies of the first edition main book and source book at discount stores often. The later editions and modules are a lot harder to find.

Not a problem for me, as I avoid Jedi wherever possible. I leave the story of the Jedi to the movies and books. There's plenty of fun to be had in the seedy parts of the universe, or with Rebel grunts on the frontlines. Now if I'm telling a tale of the Clone Wars I'll have to start looking for force powers once again.

Quick update. I started sculpting a Hutt last night.

The material is Super Sculpey. This is the first sculpting I've done in months. He still needs arms, shoulders and eyelids, and of course paint, but it's looking better then I expected. More to come.

kidterminal, Super Sculpey is my favorite sculpting material. I started this guy with a mix of white and black Fimo, and had to throw it out because it was too brittle. My favorite way to work is adding Green Stuff on top of a Super Sculpey base. That's how I worked on my Fantasy sculptures from earlier this year.

Another quick update. Progress shot of Sculpey the Hutt.

Still needs that second arm, and some bulking up in the upper torso, but he's coming along nicely.

I used to use it alot but you can't get really fine details, but it never accrued to me to use greenstuff on top of a scuplty base.

Hutts are hermaphrodites, self fertilizing hermaphrodites no less.

Wookiepida makes that claim though some of Wookiepida's claims seem suspect to me. Jabba has a child in the Clone Wars cartoon.
