Jabba had a mother according to the non cannon books and the RPG guides make no mention of self fertilization.

I think sexes of the Hutts is like the spine thing. It all depends on what you read last. In the Karen Traviss novelization of the Clone Wars movie they mentioned that Jabba was asexual. I choose too call them all 'him' and avoid the question. I think that's how the films address the issue anyway. Hell, I liked when Jabba was a yellow simian looking dude. But that was in the old Marvel comics, and no one follows that.

OK, back to the putty mines...

Well, Sculpey the Hutt is all sculpted and ready for paint. I took three shot of him to show off his many sides. For instance...

His Charming side.

His Tender side.

His Flirty side.

I added more Green Stuff to the back of his head after I realized I'd put too many folds on his back. I also defined the nostrils more as well and his forehead. If I made the tongue hang out over his lips he'd look silly, so I pushed it back inside his mouth. And the cigar just seemed like a nice affectation for a crime lord.

I'm not sure when I'll get this guy painted. I want to give the green stuff plenty of time to cure. As it stands he won't even get primed till tomorrow morning. That means next week is the earliest he'll see paint. Till then I think I'll find something else to sculpt, because this was fun.

Sculpty looks just the right combination of crime lord and slug to me.

Thank you darthgus, rumacara and kidterminal. I'm always elated to see such nice comments.

So, a question. How much bigger is the Imperial Assault Stormtrooper on the left vs. the Action Fleet one on the right?

I'm trying to figure out how much larger I need to make another Action Fleet toy, if I decide to sculpt it to the right size. This one...

I'm not saying this is my next project, but it's a front runner right now. Let me know what you think.

I'd try at about 15% bigger and see how it looks from there.

Gotta agree.
She looks lovely....for a Hutt, that is.
 ;) ;)

As for enlarging the Dewback: I would just add to what you have there and play it by ear.
With a green stuff 'skin' it should work out just fine, and add about 15-20% visually anyway.

I don't know if the dewback needs to be any bigger

I think a the Stormtroopers on it at the moment is too small compared to the woodiepedia pic above.

A mini the same size as the imperial assault one should look right I think.

Thank you everyone.

Cast it?

I've been considering it. That's the reason I'm not in a hurry to paint it yet. I know next to nothing about casting, and I fear the Super Sculpey will be destroyed in the casting process.

Someone on the DMs Craft Forum said the same thing. I think I'll just keep the Dewback as is and make some new riders. (cut up WOTC bendy plastic to the rescue.) This will be great, because I have six of these beasts already. Three mounted and three unmounted should be fine. Can't think of a reason I'd even need more.

The SuperSculpey should be fine as long as you use an RTV mold and good mold release agent. The sculpt looks good, by the way.

Good call to leave the Dewback as is.

Looking forward to more.
