Amazing.  Every time I look I see a new well thought out detail that I hadn't noticed before.

If there has ever been a wargame project which warrants a full-scale coffee table book, it is this.

That hanger set-up is indeed remarkable.  I think my favorite bit is the hangar-queen Osprey...

Good grief man; I hadn't visited this thread for a bit but all of the components together result in a breathtaking piece of terrain!

A true thing of beauty!  :-*

I just LOVE this! Fantastic! So many little details to enjoy... Is it its own board or does it fit into something larger?

Thanks all for the kind comments. nice to be back in the groove.

Too Bo Coo, it should be one of three - the Hanger Board, the Town centre board (which will be built around a Hercules) and the Gate and Junktown Wall Board - for which I've done some of the scenery but not the board itself.

The aim is also that I can use it for a number of different scenarios. At the moment I'm working on a couple of olf military buildings that I can combine with the hangar to make a home for my 'not-Talon Company' mercs, so it is both Junktown and one of Junktown's enemies for different games.

It's not big, or clever, but let's do it anyway

What a super project... Very very inspirational! When my mate and I were chatting about the game, I was telling him the basic setting I am going for in my post apocalyptic games. I really love the Mad Max vibe, so it's sort of not, immediately Day 1, but it's not 20 years in the future either. I think about 5-10 year area when nature has begun to reclaim uninhabited areas but before it's really overgrown. I grew up in a costal village that is notable for several reasons:
1. we have an Army Reverse base
2. an abandoned Nike missile site
3. a non-operational, but rods still in, commercial nuclear power plant
4. a Department of Energy laboratory, often called the American CERN.
5. and this is the cherry on top.... Nikola Tesla set up a lab here, it's here where his tower was built. Local lore has it that tunnels run under the site.
Except for the lab which is 3 miles away, every other site is within 1mile radius of each other. So I have lots of potential zombie causes and sites, and potential for lots of different groups. Lab People, military, towns folk, cops, etc.
Where I grew up, there are lots and lots of backyard and under house Cold War bunkers, some quite extensive.

Sounds awesome. I want to do something similar but I keep having to reality check myself about how much I can actually get done. I have a large set of the Tablescape city tiles which I want to use to build a bit of downtown Boston. I have all the necessary bits but it's so far down the list. One day...

Next item up is the Mutha-ship. The hub for my Lady-Scrappers team when out scouting for valuable junk. Designed to go with some of the bikers, bikers and buggies I've already done for that group. Final version will clearly have LOTS more stowage, which I'll add post painting.

I'm going to paint it black and white - like a Friesian cow!

Great work. Promising, as usual.
