Supernaturally good! The link to the black ark type ship looks like it uses sphagnum moss as seaweed type cover. That could look amazing on yours, draped over the rotting timbers.

If you've got time (snigger) how about giving capoc or hamster bedding a go, it's less clumpy than cotton wool.

The hamster bedding stuff seems to be a lot harder to get these days. If you want some I have grey and yellow ish. I can either bring it to BLAM or stick some in the post?

Teddybear stuffing or aquarium filter "cotton" works better it is not as fine and lumpy as cotton wool.
