Genestealer Cult Limo 2 - the Ramshackle one: build update pics 20/03

Right, time to get to work.
The order from Ramshackle arrived - with some free bits too, thank you Mr Curtis.  

It's going to be a stretch limousine with 8 wheels, quite armoured and a bit battleworn too.

I opted for a few choice bits to make my life as a builder of limousines for Genestealer Cults easier, although not straightforward; so I got the front part as one single piece; a chassis; mud guards; and wheels. This will leave me with a lot of bodywork to build up as it looks like a truck with an undersize cab so far.
Here are the bits (the exhaust pipes were the gratis bit, along with some others - very useful!). I'm not showing all the wheels and mudguards here of course.



And here's how they'll go together, although I'm sure it's fairly obvious:


Next step will be cleaning them up from flash and starting the assembly. And then I'll need to see how to build up the long cabin for my cultists.

Good luck mate! What about shortening the main body a bit? Maybe cut about a third off of the big bit?

I thought about that, but I think I'll keepit ridiculously long....and make sure I only use it where there are no tight turns!

Building up the bodywork is a major task, of course - I have an idea where I'm going, except for two details, and one of them is bugging me:

What IS a cult limo used for? I mean does the Patriarch ride in it, because if so the roof has to be high enough for him!

They are to let obviously nonhuman members of the cult move around without attracting suspicion. The imperium being the sort of place where enclosed carriages with darkened windows to let the elite travel without being disturbed by the lower orders are a common sight.

Yep pretty much. Of course given the wide range of technology across the Imperium the cult limo doesn't actually have to be a combustion engine vehicle a horse (or other alien beast) and carriage or even one of these wouldn't be out of place IMO

But I can't have two limos!  
Or three..... I had another idea which I discarded in favour of this - something mentioned, I think, in a Gaunt novel, a limousine/staff car with the driver riding the front half a motorbike: a bit like the Kettenkrad with limousine rear, instead of the tracked bit.

Well do you want to tell him he has to travel in a removals van you borrowed from Trotters Independent Rogue Traders?

Hmmm, no, not a bus, although it IS going to be big - and I think he'd eat a removals van rather than travel in it.
I still can't see him squeezing in my monstrosity, though - not unless he slides in sideways or travels reclined or prone!

It's the controller and battery box from an old Tamiya tank kit.
