Amazing! I'm guessing from the prove those are 6mm, but that's cool because I'm as enthused to do a 6mm lunar project as I am to do it in 15mm. I'd never heard of xmarx.

Scaling them up to 15mm would increase the material cost a lot. But I too like the look of them.

Add me to that list too!

An alternative approach using the 6mm stuff as is, might be to get the big dome and use it an an airlock - sculpt a door on the other side, and then bury the back half into some regolith.  The rest of the base is underground.  Now the trick is to defend/capture the airlock and get to the soft chewy centre (and all that lovely air!)

Thanks for pointing those out, I was under the impression xmarx had gone the way of the dodo.

As far as I know they're still operating.  The web store seems up to date and active, although I haven't ordered in ages.

I'm sure this would be too hard to make yourself but for the few bucks it costs for the pdf it seems hardly worth it:

Yep, big fan of that game.  Let me point out that Artifact's rules are very easily adapted to miniatures gaming.  All the counters are single troopers or vehicles, the hexgrid can be replaced with defined distances, the terrain types are simple to model, and with the current Moongrunt range about the only missing unit types are the landers and the aliens (although I rather like Chitters for that role anyway).  The game even has a point-buy system for scenario building.  Easily one of the best Metagaming microgames to use minis with, alongside Ogre/GEV.

Now, how to adapt Black Hole to minis?  Building a donut-shaped asteroid battlefield would be quite the trick.  Magnetized figs, maybe?

Ooh, and how about a range of models for Ice War?  Not enough giant armored sleds on the market by far.  :)

By the way, if you're hot for the Moongrunt line but hesitating for a sale, Jon announced one yesterday, through Halloween.

TMP post where I put Jon's words, a day late

Hobby Services, you'll notice I got a dig in about the lack of new ships.  :D

Looks interesting. Has anyone got a PDF copy?

Duly noted.  One more thing to spend on, cripes.

I just realized Dropfleet Commander has hit stores.  To put it mildly, I think I'm happy there aren't new Full Thrust ships right now.  Too many minis.

Isn't the link to Artifact earlier printable?  Probably also really illegal, mind you.  Last I heard Howard Thompson been very much unwilling to let Metagaming IPs go for any kind of reasonable price, much less free.

Thanks for that Davros, I haven't come across that before.
I was thinking about trying SJG's old Battlesuit rules:

They should really offer a super large crater rim around a centre section of seven hexes. I keep meaning to suggest it. I would definitely buy a piece (pieces) like that for some Moongrunt action.
