Good attempt at home made turtle too. I'm still going with the Dark Horse ones, as I think I'm not doing 28mm anyway.

What are you considering for "foot clan"?

What about rules?

I'm considering not only focussing on the turtles but the whole TMNT-thign in general. In days of old there was the roleplaying game and I think it could be funny to do some homegrown mutants too.

I'm a bit split about which canon to follow also. The tv-series (first) had some good elements (from a gaming perspective) but often got really silly. The cartoon is really cool and much more raw.

The problem with the Dark Horse ones is that they are too big for 15mm, but too small for 28mm.
I don't know of any 20mm Ninjas and figure I'd be able to find most other figures (ninja, mutants etc...) in 28mm more than any other scale.

Ninja wise I'm using some Eureka stuff and I'd like to get some perry stuff too.
Someone gave me the heads up on a possible Splinter figure - just search for DEAL-0672 Ratman Mage 25mm miniatures on ebay and you'll see what I'm going with for the moment.

I want to cover the initial comics to start with and then expand to the rest of the TMNT universe.

For Utroms I'm going to use EM4 skeletal robots and Copplestone Castings robots

Not sure what to use for Mousers yet... I have some Dark Horse ones that might be ok - but nowhere near enough...

Rules wise I'm statted them up for SBH, but am looking at SuperSystem as a more detailed skirmish with less figures.

What rules were you thinking of? Any other figure ideas?

My kids have them and they are 2" tall.  If you were willing to do a little larger scale gaming, they also made vehicles and such for this size action figure.

maybe theres something of interest for you which you can try to hunt down, on ebay!?

There were 2-3 years ago some figures in Italy from Dolci Preziosi (something like the KinderSurprise eggs) of the Turtle Range.
The Figs were about 30-35mm of hight.

I went ahead and bought them. Considering that a set of the old 20mm lead turtles just went for $103.50 USD on eBay this seems like quite a bargain to me. They look like prime material for repainting.  I'll try and post some scale comparison photos when I get them.

Strange. I just bought a set for $25

A word of warning, those dolci preziosi Turtles are HUGE for 28/30mm. They are okay though of not very detailed.
The weapons are the size of Space Marine swords, to give an indication. A real shame.

10 years ago I went to mexico and saw a bag of plastic ninja turtles. About 40mm I think.

I did not buy them and I'm still very sorry about that.

You got lucky. The seller didn't realize how much he could have gotten for them.

The auction for the Italian figs said the figs were 2-3cm. I hope that's true and that they are not "huge." Space Marine swords are 28-30mm, right? That sounds good to me. Oh well, we'll see. Cheap mistake if they don't work...

OK I got my Dolce Italian Turtles yesterday. It's true--they are HUGE. It said on the website that they were 2-3cm in height but they are really like 4-5cm. Absolutely worthless. If anyone wants mine they can have them for the price of shipping...

micro scalextric cars are 1:64 scale I do not know if turtles are 1:64 scaled or big.
