I'll make the effort this year as well. I need to chip away at the unpainted pile. Hopefully improve on my painting and photography skills.

I thought I was out of luck for the Tribes and Ship's Crew bonus rounds but realized that deep in the depths of my lead mountain I had figures for both, conveniently in groups of five already!

Even better, I started painting both sets years ago, got as far as basecoats only, then put them away for reasons I have long forgotten... but now they count as a head start on those two rounds!

The Big Brother/Little Brother round I can do from another previously-started project, and I need to sit down and do some proper organizing but I think I can do all ten rounds from in-progress current projects or stuff from the lead mountain that's already cleaned, based and primed.

Onward!

I would really like to join in again this year, but don't yet know if I can bring it up. The mojo was pretty low for a while due to busy rl. It now slowly returns and I don't want to stifle it with too much painting under the pressure that a LPL normally is for me.

I'll try to paint a few rounds worth of miniatures and see how it feels before deciding. Anyhow I'll follow the entries with a lot joy as always and am anxious to see what pops up this year. Somehow I expect to some conan miniatures  ;D
Why aim for gold if you can get lead?

Mike, I sincerely hope you make it in this year! I think I'm going to join this time around, and I might even post all new and original stuff as well!

Really, Joe? That's awesome!!! I look forward to your entries...

Desperately trying to finish my first three rounds - work has me away for two weeks from Sunday, that's two weeks of lost prep time! (I've never mastered the art of the travelling painting kit...)

Do you think if I explained I needed to paint for the LPL and that was far more important then they'd find someone else to go?  lol

Progress is slow for me this past week... I've been toiling over the Perry Miniature's Bastard of Orleans miniature the entire time... The shirt thing is just frustratingly detailed, and to be (sadly) honest, not very cleanly executed. It makes if very difficult to paint well! I'm just now finishing up the details though, so hopefully I'll be back on schedule shortly! :)

Looking forward to seeing all the entries!! :)

Thanks

I have six entries complete already!!! :) My goal is to out do my previous performance, some of which were not nearly where I wanted them to be.

Hope you can fit it into your schedule!

thanks

Well, it looks like I'm out this year  :(  Although I have figures for all rounds and have them sorted into groups ready to go, it looks like I'd struggle to get in 3 rounds in time for entry closing.  After that I'm due to get even busier with loads of extra reports and paperwork, as well as extra shifts at work and family and an allotment to sort out.

I will make sure to check in every Sunday morning to vote though.

Oh, sorry to hear that.
But yes, as we all know, it's quite a big commitment. I was touch and go myself to be honest, but have now got enough teams done and in the bag to give me the confidence that I can get through it!

Just to remind all would-be participants: entries open a week today, on Friday 17th March.

I think it's highly unlikely that all 50 slots will fill up straightaway - we haven't even managed to get 50 participants n the last couple of LPLs - but you never know.
So if you want to be sure of a place, then get your first three teams in as soon as you can from next Friday  :)

Dude, if you have six entries complete YOU - ARE - IN!

I don't even have my second entry done yet... lol

What's more, I leave Friday for a week-plus spring break to Argentina (don't cry for me...).

If I get the third entry done in time, I'm in. I just won't guarantee they'll all be new entries. I may have to forego the new team bonus to make this one work. But if Joe's in, I'm in. He's my hero. Him and Dr. Matthias... lol

I have managed to finish three entries now and will be joining!

That's a first for me.  I am on the 'in it to complete it ' and not the 'in it to win it' though. That race starts months before the actual league I think.  lol

I will be painting as we go along... perfect recipe for failure! ;D

Previously I've done the paint-as-you-go thing.

This year thanks to a burst of painting inspiration I should have all ten rounds done before the end of March and might actually get everything done, photographed, and submitted to our hard-working organisers all at once!

Rounds 1 through 6 and 10 are basically done except for touchup and photography, 7 through 9 are underway and ticking along nicely.

There are a lot of figures on my painting desk but actual progress is being made on pretty much all of them!
