Is he a sikh? I thought he looked like a Corps of Guides type or some musulman.

Iron Duke Facebook page says they're all European officers of Irregular cavalry units  :)

I’m not familiar with this conflict… did it occurs around the same time as the Indian mutiny?

Anyhow, these are really nice figures.

Great work, M. Hicks!

The Bengal Mutiny is in fact what people call the Indian Mutiny. It was in the main the Bengal army that mutinied,  supported by local rulers and such. The Madras and Bombay armies mostly remained loyal.

What Willie says. I was merely trying to be historically correct there.  ;)

And yes, judging by the Iron Duke FB page, the 'Sikh' officer is just an Englishman who's gone slightly native in his appearance.

P.S : in case some of you are wondering what the mounted officer pack is meant to depict, it is supposed to provide the basis for the Allahabad Moveable Column's volunteer horse - a small ad hoc unit made up of Bengal infantry or cavalry officers who had lost their command when their native troops mutinied. They were later reinforced with volunteer civilians and mounted infantrymen drawn from the various foot units under Havelock's command. The Iron Duke website has additional info for those who want to know more.

Looks like I stand corrected on the mounted officers pack. From the Iron Duke FB page :

Quote
One correction to something that came under discussion on the Lead Adventure Forum - the four cavalry officers you see here are not synonymous with a code representing the Allahabad Volunteer Horse. There will be one European officer in each irregular cavalry command code, according to type. We'll also mould the Euro cavalry officers up as a set of four, so you can buy them all together and use them as mounted infantry officers, or staff officers or extra cavalry officers as you see fit. One or two of these four might find their way into an Alllahabad code, because they are particularly suited to it, but there will also be other figures in the code that we have not yet revealed. If you look at the set of four officers as they are laid out here, from left to right, think of them like this: No 1. 1st, 2nd and 5th Punjaub Irregular Cavalry and Corps of Guides in smock frocks. The figure is actually based on a photo of Dighton Probyn, one of the legendary sahibs of irregular horse. No 2. This guy is pretty flexible. He could go into of the regiments already named, but he could also be an infantry field officer, a staff officer or a civilian volunteer etc No. 3. Is a European officer of Irregular Cavalry dressed in a spiked blue helmet and a regimental alkaluk. So he could be in pretty much any irregular cavalry regiment you care to model - including 1st 2nd and 5th Punjab, early on, when they were still in alkaluks, or any of the Oudh Irregular Cavalry regiments or the Bengal Irregular Cavalry regiments. The Oudh and the Bengal pretty much all mutinied eventually. He couldn't be in the Guides or Hodson's Horse or anything of that sort, because they didn't wear alkaluks. No 4. This guy, based on a photo of Lt C H Meacham, is wearing an informal frock or tunic and a shoulder sash, which latter feature makes him particularly suited to Hodson's Horse, (where everybody wore sashes), but he could also be in the Guides, or the Punjab Irregular Cavalry or the Volunteer Horse. Equally he could be an infantry officer or a staff officer or a volunteer - so pretty damned flexible!

In the meantime, here are more pics of the artillery limber crew :

I really need to finish off a couple of other projects first, but then I'm going to jump right into buying some of Iron Duke's stuff.
