Another project to add to the list  ::)

This will be an entire board and buildings for BLAM in October...  o_o

Here is the start...

Excellent, some of your best work yet - the evenness of the finish, and the brightness of the blue. Great work ;)

Funny boy  lol

What another project :o :o :o
You are mad :D

Nah, just short of time  lol

I've gooped one of my samurai terrain boards as a tester and I think it'll be fine (they all need redoing anyway).

The good Dr of De'Ath has been very helpful with plenty of images of the coastline round that area (he's a bit of a bumpkin, living all that way off the beaten track  ;)).

Might start a cottage tonight as well.

cheers

James

How many buildings will there be and you have them all ready already?

Colour test is done but without growies (I still to make a final decision about them)

They say the camera never lies... I think they were lying  lol

There is much more of a colour change than what is shown here...

And the first building starts to take shape, of course, both will look much better with some greenery  :)

Looking great Jimbo!

So these boards will be for somekind of smuggling related skirmish game?

I have fancied making a board with a smuggling theme, using Foundry 18th century civvies but alas, no time, no space.

Will there be a toll house for smugglers to break into to get their contraband back? Lighthouse perched high atop of cliffs and such?

Toll house is a good idea but lacking in time might prevent it  lol

The terrain will be a bit generic so we are going to use it for LotR and the beacon tower I made can be used for it  :)

LotR was set in a time before H&S. Can you imagine the books written from that sort of perspective. It'd be about five pages long  lol

Going to use any cork for those cliff faces, Jim?

Not for this one, carved blue foam as its more in keeping with the Jurassic coast  :)

Not that I felt pressured at all  ::) I've made the cliffs a bit higher this afternoon as I had a few hours after work and mother-in-law duties.

The first rough coat of filler has gone on as well and this'll get a going over with sandpaper for that smooth, sandy beach finish (there will be fine sand applied after the cliff carving is done).

The next big job will carving the cliffs which I'm hoping will only take a couple of evenings  :? and then it's on to the fun bit of details and growies  :D

cheers

James

Very nice, I can see you're coping with the extreme elevation with the Evian on hand (though I always thought of you as a Perrier damsel).

This project (for all involved) is shaping up to be another monster.

That's a great sculpture. And a lot of blue foam. Must have cost you a packet... Does this mean, James, that the other terrain boards will now need to be raised up to the same level as the top of the cliffs?  :)

Thanks gents (and Jackie  :D )  :)

Yes, there will be several possible exits from the caves but no lighthouse (not in the brief).

I can't wait to see the hand crafted sea shells in 28mm...

They are already there  ;D

Nick is going to prop them up as he's about the right height  lol

Just curious, how expensive it is over there? Here quite cheap as one brand is called Finnfoam so a local product and used extensively on constructions sites due to our winter weather and all that.

It comes in boxes of 600mm x 600mm sheets at approx £64 including delivery, the number of sheets depends on thickness and it based on a total thickness of 300mm - so 6 x 50mm sheets or 30 x 10mm sheets.

I just took delivery of 3 sheets, 2x 25mm and 1x 65mm - Dimensions are 2500x600. £40 through my builder. Pale grey colour made by knauf, seems to be the same as the pink stuff B&Q sometimes sells.

I know a lot of people would baulk at the price but I think it's quite reasonable  :)

Taken the day off today as I had to work all night Tuesday through to Wednesday lunchtime and I'm fucked  :(

I have however started carving the cliffs...

And here are some actual pictures of the cliffs in question (stolen by Mark from the www)

Some of the cracks look a little fine, but maybe that's just the photo? They're not going to fill in once you add filler/paint will they? I'd hate to see you put in so much work only to have it wiped out at the next stage!

Karl, I used a retractable knife. The ones that you snap the ends off when they become blunt. I just went over it again and again scoring repeatedly and then roughly picking out bits here and there, re-scoring if necessary.

Makes my trusty cork cliffery look decidedly inadequate.

Given how many different rock types there are there is certainly a place for cork and your Boer wadi (can't remember the proper term) is one of my favourites  :)

Got a simple coat of primer on it before the daylight sodded off. Needs a bit of touching up here and there though. The primer coat was done with my new compressor and airbrush (just a cheapy from Lidl but certainly does the job) and a few more layers in differing colours similar to the real pictures above.

Are you planning on air brushing a few more colours through there before you highlight? Going by your reference pics mate, it'd look good with a few more shades, then bring it together with a dry brush over top.

Between a rock and an arse place?

Very good  lol

Are you planning on air brushing a few more colours through there before you highlight? Going by your reference pics mate, it'd look good with a few more shades, then bring it together with a dry brush over top.

Yes, I'm going to try and get a few layers done so it looks a bit more sedimentary. Might look odd though as we're so used to wargaming terrain.

Tech question: I've never used blue foam but I'm thinking about building some hills with it. What do you use as the primer/ sealer?

Anything acrylic or emulsion based so it doesn't react with the foam. Most aerosols are have solvents in them which destroy parts of the foam.

You can buy acrylic sprays and I'm sure that some off the shelf ones are also acrylic but I couldn't tell you which ones  :?

I did find a foam in the builders merchants across the road from work that had silver foil on both sides which didn't react with sprays but the texture was more like oasis foam that florists used and wasn't the best for sculpting with.

cheers

James

If I ever use foam for scenery, I always give it a liberal splosh of PVA to seal it. You can then spraypaint it with whatever you like :)
But beware - if you leave any little bits un-PVA'd, they will get eaten away like a spaceship corridor with alien-drool on it...

Looks bloody brilliant James. The thing I actually like best is the way you've trowelled the 'sand' onto the beach. So it looks like real wet sand marked by the receding tide. It's a lovely, subtle touch. Most people would have made a perfectly smooth, sandy beach. But you, sir, have once again, proved your quality and brilliant eye for detail. I salute you. Again. Clever bastard.

Actually (and I hate to do this), that's not the final coat. It was just splodged on and is waiting to be sanded for a coat of fine sand...

How about unintentional genius  ;)

are lidl selling paint spray machines?

£49.99 for a compressor, air line and very simple airbrush (with cheap paints). The compressor certainly does the job and the airbrush is good for priming but for any detailed work a better airbrush with more control would be needed.

They don't carry them in stock all the time, just on occasion.

Don't use the paint that comes with it Giles, it's shit and has little bits in that clog up the nozzle  :-[

How will you be covering the tower shaped hole for the game?

I shall ignore the shit jokes  ;D ;)

The hole isn't a hole anymore, it's just a flat surface on which to place whatever as having a hole, everything that could go on the top would have to have the same size base  :?

See below  :)

They were commonly plastered inside and out, even small ones, especially from the early thirteenth century onwards. This was normally whitewashed in the case of exterior walls.

Got the sand and a temporary sea colour on. The sea colour is just to make it more complete looking but the final will have slightly sculpted waves and a better, deeper colour. The sand also needs a bit more attention including a tide line and a wash colour where the sea has been coming in.

The lighting certainly isn't helping in those photos but I think I'll be lightening them up anyway, a subtle dry/wet brush or two should do the trick  :)

Rather a lot of piccys now as it's 95% complete (just a couple of rock pools, better sea and painting the sides left to do). It can be used for many different theatres as the photos will testify  :D

What are you going to use on the water(ie varnish)? I of course have an interest ;) as on my own boards I used acrylic gloss,a few coats....Well probably  a bit more than a few, sanded back each time; if you tint each layer get some nice depth, however I digress.

I've got two options. One is to sculpt the waves from filler, paint and then varnish, the other is to use the thick water effects to give as much depth as possible  ???

I'm assuming it'll come to me when I actually sit down to do it  :)

A rocky escarpment for a church or some other such building to sit on. Same rock style as the cliffs but the colour will be lighter. There will be a plate that covers the hole that the church will sit on. Nick has various accoutrements to fill the crypt but the question is, will it effect the game...  ;)

There's an entrance from under the church into the crypt and another that leads directly outside.

No need to do the whole door, just a bit in the middle on hinges. That way it won't affect the aesthetics, just gives you a bibblyflap.  :D

And much merriment was had with the 'bibblesflap' at BLAM  ::)

The game was played today and there are several shots of it below. The game mechanics worked well but I'll let the good Dr explain them.

We used my old Robin Hood buildings as I didn't have enough time to complete the proper ones for this weekend but they will be continued along with some more coastline and more normal terrain boards. The idea being to get it to at least 6 x 6 with several options with the modularity.

A few shots of the board itself

And a few in game shots

Okay, here are a few more pics of the game in action... I didn't play it myself, so can only surmise what was going on, but...

The proud father with his new terrain baby...

Dragoons patrol the clifftops, ever-vigilant for ne'er-do-wells...

Behold. A small church atop a rocky hill... Perhaps the Vicar of Altarnun presides here...

In the graveyard, strange forces are gathering...

Whilst redcoated soldiery question the locals...

And patrol the sunken lanes...

But what can this fissure be, within the rocky cleft... ?

I love the fact that whilst searching the churchyard, this group...

Evidently do not notice what's going on just behind and below them...  lol

Meanwhile, beneath the church, something untoward is stirring in the crypt...

And finally, how it always ends... 'The pursuit of justice' - it's like an illustrated frontispiece by Hogarth to a treatise by Henry Fielding, JP.

I thought I'd post the player brief's to give a bit of an insight to the game:

Gideon King–  Swanage smugglers:

You are the leader of the Swanage gang of smugglers, a fearsome and efficient crew of cutthroats and ner-do-wells. Tonight you are landing your biggest cargo for a long time and it’s going to make you a lot of money, assuming you can stow it away in the church crypt before the morning and before the Revenue men catch you at it.  You’ve heard talk that your rival,  Bartholemew Pug who leads a gang from Weymouth is aware of your cargo and has been bragging that he’s going to take it from you.  While you doubt Pug has the guts to take your gang on, you need to be on the lookout.  The last thing you want is to run in to the Revenue, or is it?  John Knill, the right hand man of the Revenue Officer Captain Clegg, has been calling on your sister in an attempt to gain evidence of your illicit trade, or so you suspect.  It would be to your advantage if Knill was out of the picture, and a skirmish with the Revenue may be just the opportunity to arrange it.
You will receive doubloons for stowing cargo and for killing rival smugglers and Revenue men. Killing dragoons will not earn you any doubloons, the government just send more and they’re a nuisance.
You start on the beach, unloading the cargo.

Lieutenant Josiah Softlove – 2nd Dragoon Regiment

You are in command of a detachment of dragoons on patrol from Blandford, and you hate it! In fact you hate everything about this damnable county; the weather, the inbred locals, the boorish dim-witted local gentry.  If only you’d not been caught ‘in flagrante’ with the Bishop of Westminster’s daughter you’d not have been posted to this dull backwater to let the fuss die down.  The only thing that may get you back to London and Society quicker is if you can bag a few of the local villains.  You’ve been given reports that there are two gangs working together in the area, and tonight is a good night for smuggling.  With your loyal sergeant, Obediah Ruffbrute at your side, you’re in the mood for some sword work.
You will receive doubloons for killing smugglers, especially leaders. Capturing contraband isn’t going to get you back to London any faster, but it will spite the local Revenue wallahs. Whatever you do don’t go killing the locals, it will cause a terrible row.
You start on the Blandford road with your troop of mounted dragoons

Captain William Clegg – Revenue Officer
You are the local Custom’s Officer responsible for patrolling the local area and apprehending the ‘Free Traders’ who avoid paying customs charges.  You have been tipped off that a gang from Weymouth is coming to the Swanage area to meet up with a local gang to plan a raid on the customs house in Poole.  It will mean promotion for certain if you are able to capture any of the gang members and bring them to justice, so you have planned an ambush at the local village where you are told they are meeting.  Normally you would involve the army, but the local officer, Lt Softlove, is newly arrived from London and you don’t trust him. He spends more time with the local debutantes than he does at his duties and he’s a braggart and a dandy. You don’t want him getting in your way and taking any of the glory.   You also have your suspicions about the local cleric, Parson Robinson; rumours are that he stores contraband in the churchyard in return for French wines and brandy, this raid may be an opportunity to bring him in for investigation too.
You will receive doubloons for capturing smugglers, especially leaders. Capturing contraband will also earn you doubloons. Nobody’s going to complain if a few smugglers get killed along the way either.
You start on the Poole road with your revenue men.

Bartholemew Pug –  Weymouth smugglers:
You are the leader of the Weymouth gang of smugglers, a fearsome and efficient crew of cutthroats and ner-do-wells.  You’ve heard talk that your rival, Gideon King, who leads a gang from Swange is preparing to land a large cargo from France. The cargo is expected in a few days and it’s going to be worth a small fortune, and you don’t see why King and his men should take all the profit.  You intend to scout out the area and make contact with the locals; if the cargo is as big as the rumours claim your men will need help unloading it..  Your second in command, Jeremiah Darby, has a cousin in Swanage who believes the local priest, Parson Robinson, may be persuaded to store the contraband until it is safe to take it to Weymouth.
You will receive doubloons for contacting Parson Robinson and two other locals; the local innkeeper Ezekiel Cain and Blind Moses, an old soldier who sees an awful lot for a person with only one eye. Of course if you happen to acquire any contraband on the way then you’ll get some doubloons for that too.
You start on the Weymouth road with your men.

Ann Kersaway – respectable widow
Since the death of your husband at sea six years ago you have become a very enterprising business woman.  Whilst maintaining your reputation as an upright citizen and pillar of the local community, you have established a very effective network of local informants – there is nothing that goes on in this area that you are unaware of, for example you know that:
- tonight, a French brig is bring unloaded in the bay by local smugglers led by Gabriel King
- the new Dragoon officer, Lt Softlove, has left London amid rumours of an affair with a bishop’s daughter
- the Weymouth smuggler Bartholemew Pug is planning to steal the French contraband from Gabriel King
- Parson Robinson knows too much about the smugglers for his own good, and would likely tell all if captured
- Captain Clegg of the Revenue is a very ambitious man who is out to capture a smuggler or two
- there is no contraband buried in the churchyard, it’s all in the crypt beneath the church
- John Knill, an agent working for Captain Clegg, is having an affair with Gabriel King’s sister
- Bosun Oates, one of the Swanage smugglers, has a French mother
- your informant Blind Moses has a cousin in Pug’s gang who he’s been feeding information about the French brig

You will receive doubloons for any contraband that comes into the possession of the villagers.  Information is valuable too!
You start in the village.

Thanks gents  :)

Long overdue update and the update is of some buildings. The first to show is a wip of a customs house, this particular one is based on the one on Poole, Dorset.

That's the basic structure and accoutrements done but there's obviously still the roof and portico, then it's onto the painting  :)

So who generated the most Doubloons?

The dastardly Ann Kerserway played excellently by NurgleHH  >:D

That (so far) custom customs house is brilliant, you need to offer that as a kit to us mere mortals at some point. It would be perfect for newer periods as well and have many other uses besides the customs office.

Apparently the original customs house was burnt down and rebuilt in replica in 1813. The stairs were apparently based on the Guildhall. So says the English Heritage listing. The railings might not be original then.

Cheers fellas  :)

Carrying on with some town houses even though I keep getting pestered to make the village first  lol

These two are joined together permanently and I'll be making several others like it in twos and threes. I'll also be making some angled buildings to fit in between so the streets aren't in a grid pattern.

Obviously still the roofs to paint, chimneys to add along with doors/windows etc.

I haven't caught this thread before and didn't spend enough time looking at the setup at the when the game was played for BLAM. But now ...

I have to say that Jim had got the Swanage coastline perfect and the Poole Customs House is spot on (it's now a bar and a year doesn't go by without me sitting outside it having the drink or three).

I'm also starting my own force for this game - look out soon for the Royal Navy ...

Work has started on this again with the beginnings of the village blacksmith  :)

Blue foam all the way including a forge from... You guessed it... Individual bricks  :D

The foam will constitute the roof and there will be a dormer in it, it's gonna be fun working that one out...

There will also be a wooden structure covering the forge area, but that'll be balsa and not blue foam  lol

cheers

And just for you Rui, there's 232 bricks in this alone (and you wonder why I don't want to count the ones in the castle  lol ).

How often were smithy roofs thatched anyway? Seems it would be a fire hazard... I did a quick search and wasn't really able to find a definite answer.

The buildings have some paint on them and next will be the thatch roofs and then some windows and doors (with handles...) and then the landscape. Roofs first as I enjoy doing landscaping so I thought I'd leave that till last  :)

Also painted the forge and added some coals...

Now that is a nice thatch effect. I take it you used a metal brush to produce the texture? If so, how did you avoid large-scale chipping? I used a brass brush for a similar attempt and failed miserably as it tore huge chunks from the material.

Most of it is the texture of the foam already, it has a grain when bought but only the 5mm stuff. A little going over the corners with some 80grit and it's done  :)

Btw how does it tie in with the rest of the board? Are you going to have cliffs behind the houses the same height as your existing cliffs?

It's Nick's footprint, he decided to dance up and down on the table because it was going so well  lol

The strip of foam at the back is the same height as the cliffs and the harbour has been designed so that it can be placed on either side for maximum modularity  :)

I meant to ask, you have a cut-away of what looks like the harbour wall, are you going to try some stormy waves crashing over it?

If you do, I'd recommend the railway modellers technique of using clear and white silicon and a tooth pick. They use it for waterfalls mostly, but I reckon a man of your talents could adapt it for this. Maybe run some parallel lines along a length if plastic card the rough it up with the tooth pick( you can add small bit of white silicon in at this stage to act as the foam) Let dry and then peel it off. You can then glue it in place with more silicon and also use gloss varnish on the calmer water.

Just catching up on the harbour build; looking good. I've wanted to do a Staithes-like harbour for years so I'll be watching this with interest. I never came up with an idea that I felt worked for having a deeper water harbour placed next to a beach, though I was going to rock armour the outside edges of the harbour walls. It'll be good to see how you do it.

Stupid question - why do you need to wheelbarrow a boulder around?

I guess it is a case of art imitating life as he always seems to be carrying a useless, dense lump around with him when we meet up for BLAM.
It is about the same size too.

Knackered by alcohol!!!

Was a really great game. Lovely to look at with unexpected twists. Play was rewarded by getting into the mildly peculiar mindset of the three GMs (or rather the GM with his little and large assistants). Much enjoyed. Well done Team Dawwwwwset.

Later than advertised (of course) but below are a series of pictures from the two games that were run on the day. In no particular order, just which ever ones look good.

The basic idea was that there has been a series of grisly murders that the players had to solve but also they had individual objectives that were (unbeknownst) linked to the murder.

There were also a selection of 'locals' dotted around the board that the players could ask questions of (and much fun was had there  :D) to try and gain clues... Sme of the players just went for a shoot em up though  lol

The twist is shown in the last picture  >:D

Well, with Salute rushing ever closer it's time to carry on the demo game terrain.

After doing a bit of research, lentils seemed to be the best option for the harbour tops with sheet styrene for the sides. The styrene was stuck on with a hot glue gun and wood glue and the lentils wood glue on it's own. I'll give them a coat of watered down wood glue to seal them (you see Steve, it's that easy  ;)).

The main front edge of the harbour will have about an inch worth of lentils blended into the normal ground cover (gloop) that will lead to the cliffs at the back.

cheers

James

It's intriguing to discover that a man who is allegedly 6'8" has such tiny feet. Must create considerable balance issues. The air pressure change from someone closing a door would probably be sufficient to make him topple. Maybe the wizard's tower and Al Burj Model were made in a desperate attempt to prop himself upright and stand erect in the face of a mild summer breeze?

Inquring minds must know. :)

With Salute looming as it usually does its time to crack on with finishing the table and for today it's the harbour buildings.

Got two more to do (one is done, just need to stick a new one next to it) and then it's on to finishin the harbour properly  :)

Will it be an all nighter the night before? Oh I think it will  lol

Inquring minds must know. :)

6'5" and size 11  ;D

They look bloody brilliant, mate.
The various sizes and textures, details and angles really add to the look and feel of the row.
 :-* :-*

air pressure change from someone closing a door would probably be sufficient to make him topple.

Doors used to cause other problems too, but the invention of the 'Bibblyflap' has worked wonders, I hear.....

Truly wonderful stuff. Individually the buildings are lovely  but combined they are really superb. Too often you see homogeneous collections of buildings on a table, which whilst not unknown in real life is a lot rarer than people seem to think. At the other end of the spectrum you see random assortments of 'whatever is available' plonked down. These strike a wonderful balance of a tie in of styles with sufficient variance to appear real.

I really can't wait to see everything in place.

Apologies for crediting you with an additional three inches James.  :) As they say in the classics, size isn't all that matters.

You know, I reckon there's a quid to be made, selling those perspex forms to people who want to detail/superdetail them. Knights of Dice has done something similar in MDF with their Tabula Rasa line. Building shapes, that are a pain to mass produce but can be readily dollied up by folk with the time and inclination. Dunno how cost effective it would be cutting perspex but I suspect there's a gap in the market. Cheaper than a resin building and potentially a better medium to work with than MDF.

Be there, or be a regular quadrilateral polygon!

The cobbles do seem to fade to dirt rather close to the quay edge... seems a funny bit of work for the cobbles to peter out before the house fronts considering the houses are practically right on the waterfront edge. Is that how it really is on the real quays out there?

I'd cover the gloop with more cobblestones

Me too.

And while you are at it, you should repaint those cliffs.
They dont look right in that shade of blue.....

More gloop added  and I think it will blend in better when painted.

That's it, ready for painting now but that won't happen till tomorrow when the boys are round  :D

Where are the house you already built and painted are they not for this bit of the board?

They are going to be for the town on top of the cliffs but they can be swapped around as and when.

The cobbles do seem to fade to dirt rather close to the quay edge... seems a funny bit of work for the cobbles to peter out before the house fronts considering the houses are practically right on the waterfront edge. Is that how it really is on the real quays out there?

Honest answer, I really couldn't be bothered to do more  ;)

'Official' answer, only the harbour edge would need the solid surface of the cobbles with the frequent footfall there  ;)

cheers

Thats sad. The whole board is made with so much effort I m concerned a flat painted surface could pull down the overall look. Theres is really easy fast method to make Watertexture that would not consume to much time. I´ve made this on my Götterdämmerung Promotable, maybe its a help for you.

Its pure Sanitary Acrylic used for jointing in Bathroom etc. The cheap white stuff poured on in single lines and quickly pushed in waveshape with wet fingers. I weared Rubbergloves to avoid fingerprints. After a night drytime you can paint it like the pure flat surface. The Wavetops are just dipped with pure white Paint mixed up with Filler and Baking Soda. Thats quick and easy to make and brings the whole table way more ambient imo.

Cheers Delta

I might look at it after Salute but the buyer is quite happy with it being flat. It also helps to keep boat bottoms flat  :)

I think it's appropriate for it to be flat in harbour, or MAYBE a very very slight rolling - no more than 1mm in height differences anywhere.

A compromise might be a tiny bit of wave lapping (very little) where the water meets the quay wall.

Just make sure there's some green scum at the waterline on the quay wall!

Don't worry! Stonker simply means excellent.

James, your gloop, what do you make it from? Is it just watered down filler with paint added?

It's a mix of paint, woodglue, powder filler, ready mixed filler, very fine sand and Sandtex masonry paint...

Sheeps blood, the hair from a tail of a kitten, crushed dodo eggs and a sprinkling of fairy dust  ;)

Maybe not the last lot  :D

Carved out of a block of foam is one way, but you could build it properly, block by block.
Have you considered doing that for the cliffs.?

There is some nutter on here who did the same with a castle.

Water effects: Claude Monet. It's only right that Claude gets a credit.

Lovely work. The area at the bottom of the cliffs, really does have depth, it actually looks like you can see the shadow of the continuation of the cliffs benath the waters. Nicely done indeed!

Lovely stuff Jim looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.

Gloss coat of any sort going on that water Jim?

I assume there's no time for that before Salute, but is it something you're planning for later?

There's a coat of gloss on there, just acrylic varnish, but it's there  :)

There's something wrong with my Photobucket account so as soon as it's sorted I'll post a couple of complete shots  :)

I'm afraid a lot of my photos from the day are slightly blurry. Getting up at 4am yesterday to come fown to Salute must have given me a shaky hand. Here's the better ones I have.

I particularly like the sign on the Inn.
It looks top drawer.
And no sign of hobbit footprints either.

Now seeing all this pictures of the final table makes me smile a bit about myself. It truely shows the ways Hobbyforums are working on peoples minds. Look we saw the table from the beginning in all its WIP stages, discuss about lentils, slightly squared cutted rocks, or the watereffects. But to be honest not a single person will have looked on the table yesterday and said" Oh that lentil right there is not really perfect on its place"  lol

The Table in its full final brightness is really a spot on place to game and brings all this tiny places, textures and colors perfect together for a consistent look and feel! Chapeau!

To be honest though, you do get very large hedges around there, especially around the sunken roads. Almost like bocage.

Hey James,

You are mad you know for building another 6 tiles?!  ;D

You featured in the TerrainTutors last Sunday night live vlog. He admired all that cutting!!!!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDm90l3dryI (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDm90l3dryI)

You will be blending all the tiles together with another top coat/drybrush when you've finished the final 6 yes? The road changes colour a bit between the old and the new, and the grass.  ;)  It's a nightmare trying to match existing terrain colours isn't it  >:( Silly paints drying different colours.

Cheers
Matt

The British coastline is full of areas that are still largely rural with historic hedgerows used as windbreaks and protection for fields and as Jim said roadways. There's lots of sea buckthorn and hawthorn near me in areas that look very similar to the Dorset layout, cliffs and all. Plus they do indeed hide the board joins.
