Great additions mate...really putting me to shame with your productivity.

Particularly like the spear men, look very impressive en masse.

Thank you! Once I get going with a project, I can usually churn out units pretty quick. Quicker if I limit myself in colour choice as with these.

Today I managed to finish the mounted version of Footsore's lovely Aethelflaed. I have started building a unit of armoured cavalry for her to lead. She is mounted on a Fireforge northmen horse as her original horse is much smaller.

What do you think?

Looking good!

And slightly late of me, but the spearmen turned out great!

Another little update. I got some more Victrix kits to kitbash armoured cavalry, but it ended up being more work than I had bargained for. The victrix gaul horses are tiny ponies, which would not fit with the Fireforge horses I had already used. For my first three models I used these spare metal horses from my collection, and now I'm having a look to see if I have or need to get something more.

Thoughts?

I think you did a great job with them...my only query would be the cloaks, which suggest dynamic movement, whereas the mounts are stationary...I guess it could be a windy day though  ;)

Agree, that is a bit of a concern. I've thought of swapping the horses out because I can't make a unit of ten from these anyway.

Will have to wait until the rest of the unit are built, and then we'll see how they look.

Swapped the horses out for Perry 100 year war horses. Didn't have anything that matched the metals anyway, and like Akula said, the riders look better with more dynamic horses.

I think kite shields for these, what do you think?

The new mounts look a thousand times better...like you said much more dynamic

Re:shields - kite shields would work, or a small round one. Either way, great work mate

fantastic work on the kit-bashes... so many on these boards now seem to be doing lovely conversions / green-stuff work ... yours look some of the best !

and think you're onto something with the limited colour palettes.

Those cavalry are looking great. The mounted Aethelflaed leading the cavalry will be a brilliantly dynamic looking unit. Looking forward to seeing them painted  :-*

The full unit looks great! And agreed, the speedier looking horses definitely pair up well with the flowing cloaks!

Thanks guys! Painting is underway. Still waiting on my rulebook, would really like to start making army lists so I can plan the next step in this force.

Still, managed to get this Hasslefree sorceress finished. Got her in their kickstarter a couple of years back along with a bunch of other models, and they have slowly been finding their way into my different projects since. She does look a lot like Mrs. Santa Claus in this colour scheme, but whatever, it'll be fine with an army around her.

Lovely paint job.....have the same mini in my paint queue, but a much more dull colour scheme in mind - the red looks cracking though  :)
