They look great :). What rules are you using?
Thanks. For role play - skirmishes I'm using this: https://www.twohourwargames.com/waheadinta.html They have got their own universe but it can be used in any other quite easily. Actually, once I've got all my LOTR figures painted, I'll be starting a campaing in the Middle Earth with this same ruleset.

Here you have a BATREP of my lastest game with this ruleset: http://javieratwar.blogspot.com/2022/08/road-to-lothgolin.html

Great looking bunch of elves. Looking forward to seeing them in action in your LotR games.

Thank you. I have to check those rules, although I'm quite familiar with other 2hwg games.

I must say I co-wrote that ruleset so my opinion is biased  ;) But if you play it, I'd love to hear some feedback. Also, you can ask me any doubt you may have  :)

The only quibble you might make is that she looks obviously feminine from her armour and equipment (so less of a convincing 'Dernhelm' with her helmet on). But at 1/72 scale, you might consider that a feature, not a bug! And Frazetta  wasn't too bothered about it either!

They all look fantastic! I'm particularly impressed by the dwarves.

Agreed.  Frazetta knew full well which features to accentuate and which ones to fudge or leave out altogether.

Happy Orctober!

Orctober is as good as any other excuse to splash some paint on some Orcs. Below you can see the ten different poses contained in the box, with four sprues like that.

In my view, this is the best box of Orcs from the three sets delivered so far as they have special characters like the female or the chieftain, as well as more dynamic and colourful poses. Regretfully, there are not any musician or standard bearer in the box, nor anything that could be used as a magician.

This time I decided to give them a darker skin tone, more akin to Tolkien's description.

You have certainly done a great job getting them to look their best! I like your choice of colours. It seems like the spearman could be converted into a standard bearers fairly easily, but making a shaman would be challenging.

Agree. These are also fantastic!
I can't believe people out here have the skill and patience to paint eyes for 1/72.... incredible.

I made a quick mock up in photopea of how you could make a banner bearer & a shaman, not sure if it's of any help.

Thank you for those kind comments guys. I complained about the lack of standard and musician in this set but I have other sets that include them, so I don't have to make any conversions  ;)

Ok, it is a Frost Giant from Reaper Bones for 28mm miniatures, but on one hand it is a bit short for being a Giant at that scale, and on the other hand I did not want a Frost Giant painted like a Smurf and with a hard-to-believe ice sword.

I wanted a "Norse" Giant like the ones you can see in Games of Thrones, and I wanted it in leather, wood, stone and bones and without any metal, to give it some prehistoric flavour. I also saw it perfect for 1/72 scale.

So this is how it turned out; a real king in the North.

I'm not quite happy with the "bone" sword but I didn't want one made of ice or stone, so there you go, some spine taken from a long-ago dead leviathan.

Close up of the face. I 'm happy with the eyes as I could not see them very well with my poor eyesight.

As you can see, it is just perfect for 1/72 scale.

That worked very well! I think your decisions on the colour palette look great. He certainly is imposing next to 1:72 figures.

Thank you! It's exactly how I envision a Giant when compared to humans :)
