These are fantastic miniatures!
They are so tiny, but have come out so well, and your painting is really effective, especially considering their size.

I think you have a very good idea for colours.
I am planning to use 15mm human figures for halflings, but I don't think they will look nearly as good as this.

Thank you Tom! As you know, I was also about ordering some 15mm humans from Ral Parth but 13.50 GBP for shipping has put me down as I my order was for just 6 GBP! So 3D printing for me I'm afraid.

Yes, 3D printing is perfect for getting those models you couldn't get otherwise, and not only in 1/72 scale; right now there are a lot of people making 10mm fantasy armies for Warmaster or 15mm for WH40K and Epic for example.

Well, keeping painting the Felowship of the Ring now I've painted Aragorn and Boromir. Next it will be Legolas and Gimli.

The tunics are Vallejo US Dark Green and the Elven cloaks Vallejo Field Grey. They cannnot be distinguished well in the pictures but they do in real.

These pictures have more light than the ones with the Hobbits as the sun was shining when I took them. Remember they are 1/72 scale and not 28 mm.

Your Aragorn and Boromir look amazing. The Vallejo military colours have some great uses in fantasy - I have been trying various uniform colours as skin tones for orcs and goblins.

I am looking forward to seeing the completed Fellowship very much.

That's great! It could almost convince me to buy a 3Dprinter... if I could forget about the thousands of 1/72 soft plastic figures already waiting in the cellar

Do not buy a 3d printer or you'll get hundreds of minis to paint! Just order a few printed figures from time to time as I do.

Two more for the Fellowship of the Ring in 1/72; next Gandalf and Gollum. I love these figures but especially Legolas as he is very dynamic




I'm happy how he turned out. I used Vallejo paints. He's got Russian uniform for his trousers, Reflective green for his tunic and German Fieldgrey for his cloak. Then flat brown for boots, flat Earth for bow and Mahoganey for leather straps and belt.


Here it is a comparative shot with one 1/72 soft plastic Caesar Elf. Legolas is slightly less taller than the Caesar's one because he has no integrated base.

Yes, I have seen them. If they release a Mumakil then I'll make a full army of Haradrim. The same goes for Gondor, when they release Gondor infantry.
