I could definitely see me making a what a tanker version in 6 or 10mm

I'd also make some thing like this for the playing area

That is a sweet travel board. I did think of doing something similar and have done in the past. But, in the end I decided that if I take PWG on the road then I'll likely draw a map on some A4 paper.

I mentioned it on another platform but I really like the way the whole thing comes in nicely segmented storage and that there are different packs that are equally well presented.

Back before I moved to 28mm, I used to keep my 15mm Laserburn miniatures in tobacco tins lined with tissue and seeing this storage method really gave me a pang of nostalgia :) .

Brilliant work from Denizens :) .

It is a tidy little set which was a big part of the appeal for me and I can see myself taking it on holiday in the summer to play with my family. My only concern at the moment is the parts are almost impossible to remove without turning the tin upside down. I made sure to do two coats of varnish on everything but we'll have to see how they cope long term.

In the mean time I finished my barrels...

Nothing fancy here, I just made sure to paint them in colours that contrasted well with the troops. Next up it's the turn of the Federation troops and continuing with the board.

Oh jeez, so very tempting. I've been wondering about doing some 10mm or 6mm terrain for travel purposes before. This is just wetting my appetite, especially as the paint jobs already look lovely.

Thanks chaps.

I would say Burgundavia that I'm not sure there is really enough terrain for a proper game as it looks very spartan until you get down to maybe 20x20cm board. But then thats an easy fix with some pebbles or even some tins of beans or something. I actually bought a small plastic tub (less than A4 size) which I plan to keep the tin in as well as the ruins. It should also give me enough room for one or two more tins (Mecha) so I'll just need a travel board. I'll likely go with A4 paper so I can draw extra terrain, objectives, etc.

Here's the finished board and hill...

As shown before this is a 9mm birch faced plywood board (30x30cm) with some 9mm foam on top, textured with a ball of scrunched up aluminium foil. To tidy the edges I added some beech (I think) trim that was waxed after I'd painted the board. For the static grass I went with the smallest size I could find, 2mm. The hill is a 1mm plasticard base with a couple of layers of 9mm foam on top that was sculpted to shape and textured as with the board. I made sure to try out the angles of the hill's slopes to ensure a mini could stand anywhere on it without sliding.

I was thinking I might go with the ruins next rather than the Feds...though I am also working on a load of 28mm scale rocks so it might take a bit longer.

Yep, but a bit more space (like a smallish shoe box could hold well more than enough and still be easily portable).

Well they've taken me somewhat longer than I hoped bu the ruins are finally finished...

They're a little sunbleached in the photo but I deliberately went with a subdued colour scheme so they don't detract from the minis. Speaking of which it'll be the Feds next...though don't hold your breath on when they'll be done.

Will you be painting their eyes?

For such tiny minis this projects seems to have taken aaagggeeesss to complete, of course a busy regular life might have had something to do with it.

Finally the Federation troops are done...

And heres a pic of the board set up for the first game...

My plan was to get this done in time for me to take on the family holiday...only 5 weeks late, doh!

This is a great little set and while the game isn't exactly challenging it's still fun and my daughter enjoyed blowing up my tank. I would say that I did have to trim one piece of scenery to get it to fit in the tin once painted and on the Fed tank I had to trim the turret to get it to sit inside the tank for the same reason.

Overall though a great purchase.
