Hurrah!

The undercarriage is finished!

Here is a pic of the undercarriage by itself.  You can see the three holes in the large plastic "spine" that I use to attach it to the ship itself and you can also see that the wheels were a tad bit large and had to cut some.  Kinda looks poorish here but, you won't see that when attached.   ::)

Here is a picture inside the ship showing the attachment points.  Each point consists of three nuts superglued to each other and then milliputted as well to make a strong bond.  Once I put the deck on, if these break off... disaster.

This picture shows the undercarriage actually attached to the bottom of the ship with bolts.

And here is how it looks when it is upright ready to fight.

As one can tell, it is gaining in height.  At this point the ship is 6 inches (15cm) high and will be growing fast.

Have to finish the hull now and place the deck.  Back soon hopefully.    :)

To be honest I find the wheels stick out to much, it gives the ship a very light and floaty look. It is massive tough, and looks awesome otherwise.

Looking great.  I think the wheels add to the whimsically "realistic" feel that makes VSF the enjoyable insanity we all love.  I'm looking forward to the paint job.
This is my boomstick!

WOW it's huge :-* :-* :-*
I agree the front wheels look a bit fragile. How about an armoured cover or hood for the wheels.
Still looking great. Keep up the good work.

Almost finished with the hull now.

Added the remaining guns so ya'll can get an idea of where I'm heading.

The main battery is a rather large and nasty howitzer.  The purpose of the ship will actually be support, so it will have a tendency of sitting back and bombarding its' adversaries.  The two quick firing 12lb guns will be used for anti-air protection and anti-personnel protection.  The hull turrets are for anti-armor protection.

It's not to say that the ship won't just wade into the thick of battle, but overall what I am building here is an asymmetrical response to the American's Aeronef USS Blunderbuss.

Building wise, once I have finished the hull (which should be soon now) I will then be moving on to the superstructure.

Cheers!

You should mount some sort of Egyptian temple on top, as a command bridge.
