That's really evocative... Nice work Paul (and Grand Manner)

I know you're not a massive plastics fan... Are you tempted by the new Victrix plastic Greeks at all?

They've been on my list since I first saw the three-ups, great poses. However I have 2 boxes of Immortal hoplites to think about first. I don't think my Greek Impetus armies will get done to be honest :)

Nicely painted and a good idea for an addition to any ancient game.

But I must say that the model itself looks like something you could put together yourself with a couple of twigs and a bit of greenstuff in no time.  :)

The cost of the greenstuff would be more than the cost of the casting. The base it's on is 180mm across, it's not a small piece.

Great stuf!!!  :o :o

Didn't you try to use clay?

Also boys take in count what price do you put on your time. Maybe the time-cost of actually making it is greater than the cost of paying for it.

That's just what I did. I'm studying.  lol

Oh shit! That's quite a lot more than I thought!  o_o

I recently read " The End of Sparta" by Victor Davis Hanson where an olive press is featured quite a bit and this model is evoking it. Great model, and the book is recommended too. Has anyone painted up Grand Manner's Sacred Olive Grove?

As part of my '2015, Get Stuff Done Year' (see also my Napoleonics thread: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=75952.0 ) I've revived AGON in order to get it running as a viable game.

To this end I'm beginning with adding miniatures to the set to allow some roleplaying action and later perhaps some skirmish games too, rules permitting.
First up some rebased Grenadier miniatures from the archives, a Troll, a Cockatrice and a Manticore and a Ral Partha Chimera, all based on 80mm bases as befits their size and status.

Very nice!
 :-*

I really like the look of that cockatrice....Grenadier, ya say...?
 :D

Now I just need to wander back through the thread again.
It has been a while since I last looked, and I have been slowly putting some Greek stuff together for an OGAM later this year.
There is bound to be plenty of opportunities to steal some more ideas.
 :D
