Arbites Patrol #450 (7/25 Arbites Ogryn done)
« on: June 07, 2011, 12:59:41 AM »
FINALLY got around to painting these excellent old school GW Arbites figures. Believe it or not, they have been sitting in my drawer, primed, for almost 10 years now! These were some of the very first minis I ever bought way, way back in 1996.

The blue basecoat was laid down, zenithal-wise, with airbrush paint. Everything else is Reaper Pro Paints (which I'm becoming addicted to). This is also my first attempt at NMM...what do you think?

I LOVE those Arbites. Probably my favourite models. I don't know why I never bought any tho.
I really like your NMM, I've never tried it and probably won't as the GW "tutorial" would take me years with all the layering and washes and highlights.
How did u do your NMM, as it looks less complicated but very effective.
Yearly painting challenges only show me how useless I am at painting...

Thats a cool squad.

I have had mine in unopened blisters for even longer...   ::)

Cool choice of palette, btw.

Very cool work on those models! I never really cared that much for them, they seemed to be so over the top but I didn't know Judge Dredd at the time so I didn't make the connection. I really like the colour scheme and the NMM works well I think.

These are really nicely painted.  It isn't very often you see them painted in such bright colours and they really suit them.

Its always good to see older minis painted so well. To me they sorta look like the Arbites from Bell of Lost SOuls's Arbites Fandex.

Great work! The Ogryn fits in really nicely. I was skeptical when I first read the title :)

My Arbites are currently on the floor in nice little rows, waiting for me to base and prime them. I need several more of the first-gen Arbites before I can start them though.

Never saw that ogryn before... is it an official arbites mini, or a conversion? Googling didn't really help me out, here...
