Could you not use brass wire and flatten the ends a bit with either pliers or a sanding block?

It's certainly worth a try James, that could be just the trick. A solution which doesnt require repainting would be ideal ;)

Nice work!
Looks like a lot of fun!

Thanks Aggro, I've certainly taken to using your maroon wash over the face. It livens them up no end, i just need to keep it subtle, or I end up with a makeup disaster (see tall fiona lol)
It is a bundle of fun! I have too many ideas to make them all happen sadly.  lol But isn't that always the way? ;)

Cheers
Matt

For those just wanting pictures.

A SMER 1/48 Tiger Moth

Should I add the top wing? Or leave it clean and make it more pulpy like a Ryan PT Trainer?

In other news, I saw Mad Max fury road on the weekend.
Remember this from a few months ago??  ???

Well now it looks like this.

And remember this?

Well now it looks like this!

INTERCEPTOR!!!!

I've been having a blast with a resin kit. Ive sourced some matchbox wheels, some tamiya barrels, and have gone about duplicating them. What fun. There will be more scatter terrain in the near future, along with these mad max vehicles. Ive always been hesitant to buy resin stuff (due to cost) and been hesitant to "lock in" Barrels/scatter as I want to save it for the future. But now, I can make a mould and use it! Talk about having your cake and eating it too!

In the meantime I finished basing the super Brother Vinni Eyebot and Mr Gutsy.

More pics of my star wars stuff on my blog, or on my Future wars thread.

The interceptor how has a resin barrel for the back, chunky resin tires, and other resin stowage! :D Im putting together a driver for the interceptor, as well as one for a dune buggy.

Not to be ignored, the tiger moth will be a biplane, and it will have its original hollow pigeon chested pilot modified, with a brand new head. :D

Cheers
Matt

Artnr. is: 18.01100.10

Thanks guys! Looks like that german shop needs a 100+Euro order, unless I can find a local reseller in Aus. Both are good options, I shall see what I discover first! :D

You could always get someone in the EU to buy for you and then send it.

I've started painting the next batch of post apocalptic vehicles.

I think Pixars "The King" makes a good interceptor. :D It's sitting pretty on some resin dune buggy wheels I copied from a the matchbox buggy, and the Pixar Bug. Lifting them makes them scale a little better with 28mm figures in my eyes.

I have refined my rusting technique too, based on heavy refrence imagery.
1. base coat colour/highlights
2. thin smears and drips of snakebite leather
3. Heavy stippling of Bestial Brown
4. Limited stippling of Beastial Brown/Black.

It gives a nice rust "texture" too.

The blue was applied first on the MFP cars, then yellow. I still have the faded yellow to apply, then red stripes, then rust and dust. But they are getting there.

Cheers
Matt
