Someone suggested that I needed to have a few veteran Tyranid hunters in my army so... I went and bought a box of Skitarii and have been thinking a lot about what I need to do with them... and have got this far:

In a bid to try and rationalise things, my army (not including the Skitarii) has two distinct factions. The majority of the army comes from the Astra Militarum codex with some of the more specialist troops coming from the Adeptus Astartes codex so I thought I'd call the Tyranid hunters (Skitarii)Space Marine Scouts, just to tie them in with what I have rather than starting another faction just for a couple of squads. Here's what I have listed so far:

Astra Militarum:
HQ Squad
Infantry Platoons
Sentinel Squadrons
Weirdvane Psykers
Primaris Psykers
Engineseers
Priests
Ogryns/Bullgryns
Rough Riders
Vehicles (TBD)

Adeptus Astartes:
Terminator Captain (Exo Squat)
Terminator Squad (Exo Squats)
*NEW* Scout Squads (Skitarii/veteran Tyranid hunters)

Obviously, lots of it is WIP but I have managed to convert/sculpt over 80 so far so the army is slowly getting there

They will look great when you have finished them, of that I am sure.

Unfortinately, it seems that they are on hold for the time being because, in another, classic, change of direction, I have been building and converting Exo troopers. These are the most recent ones:

The design is inspired by AT VOTOMs (a subject that I am in love with  ) and the necessity to have recognisable weapons for the army (GW categories).

This week, I have finally started to get some work done on the command squad:



Still lots to go but there are a few little 'bumps' that I need to iron out with the unit before I will be able to finish them. I will be the first to admit that they aren't necessarily the best armed/equipped unit from a gaming perspective... but I don't game so it doesn't concern me too much.
