Perry Agincourt. Another archer added!!
« on: 07 February 2015, 09:43:19 AM »
First one of the boxed set painted. Fairly quick turnaround on this one.  :D

Not sure if I should have gone lighter/brighter on the armour overall?

I've just got to glue the rest of them together now though..  ::)

Nice work Raymond.  As I scrolled down, before I read your comment, I thought "Oh I like the understated armour" and the finish reminded me of some Armoury metallics I had years ago. Probably way off but are they Tamiya?

They're Vallejo. Various mixes of gunmetal, natural steel and silver. I'd mixed the steel and silver together for the final highlight not wanting to go overly bright. Reasoning that polishing might be the last thing on his mind just before battle.  ;)

Thanks,

Brill  :-* :-* :-*

Weathered armour will look fine given the condition of the English army.

Just to reiterate what I said on that other forum, if you're thinking of putting an Agincourt game on you really ought to read Agincourt, A New History, Prof Anne Curry as she puts forward a very convincing argument that the French army was a lot smaller then is usually portrayed by most military (and none military) historians.

I do like the dark look on him. That's how I paint my knights and I really love it.

Love the armour, looks like he's had it uncovered on the march through France, would have a nice contrast against the traditional shiny knights of France on the gaming board.

I have just bought a box of these fellas myself and I cant wait to see what you do with the others, might even give me a few ideas for mine!

Well, added one of two archers I've been working on. Again, another quick paint job, a bit of a test for colour scheme if anything.

Two pics for this one as I couldn't get the depth of field right. Really should have paid attention for the whole half an hour of that photography course...  ;)

Archer looks great, I'm currently painting miniatures from the same box so it's nice to see what others are doing with them. Would love to see a step by step progression of how you painted these though.
