I'm afraid that owing to the recent problems with some ISP's evidently having blocked or voided LAF emails for various (entirely spurious) reasons, we've decided not to send further notifications for the time being.

But there is a big helpful banner right at the top of each and every page on the forum, reminding you to vote :)

All you have to do is remember to pop along every Sunday morning, UK time, (or during the ensuing week) and exercise your right to vote on the matches...

Still short of a few round 4 entries... Gentle reminder to participants...  8)

Will close the current round of matches overnight or first thing tomorrow... And then be looking to set up everything for round 4 during Saturday.

Please remember that if you don't submit a new team, or advise which of your previous teams you would like to play again, your entry from the current round will simply roll forward.

:)

Just sent off Rounds, 4, 5, and 6 by email!

Not entirely happy with my Round 5 photo, might try again this weekend. Or might not. We shall see.

Onward!

Nice choice on changing the colour from blue to red for the announcement. My eye picked it up staight away.

Figures are done for rounds 5, 6 and 7 but I still need to work on the décor for round 5…

On another topic, I’m still trying to understand why the total numbers of voters vary so much from one match-up to another… :?

Never understand it myself, same every season.

That year when there was a record number of entries, it did get a little awkward to make sure I'd voted for all of them.  It's when you are voting and people are leaving comments, moving the order.  My foolproof method now is:

Open the top one - admire - choose and vote - back space, the browser arrow.  Choose the next one down, repeat actions as above.

I've found I never miss any of the matches this way and vote on them all.

Clever... I just try to vote as fast as I can, hoping people won't have time to post too many comments. I come back later to be sure I vote on all match. I'm quite sure I missed at least 1 in LPL 10 though :?

Sometimes I can't decide which to pick, plan to come back later when I've thought about it, and forget to. Sometimes I just can't choose and so don't vote. In such cases I like to give my vote to whoever else is in the room at the time, but often I'm on my own here in the man-cave (especially on a Sunday morning).

Very occasionally I just flat-out don't like either entry for whatever reason, and so again, I don't vote. I don't see the benefit in spending much time wrestling with the idea of which one I dislike the least.

I think that's the answer to the conundrum to be honest. Several people have said to me down the years that they don't bother to vote on matches where neither entry floats their boat.

I posted a question about my own entry in the current round between Angstpuppet and me. This put the match at the top of the list and "gained" 3 more voters…

EDIT: which tend to prove that while some people decide not to vote, others just miss the round somehow. Maybe a way to cast vote and post comments at a "different time" could be done? :?

Interesting phenomena you've observed. Voter fatigue maybe? 19 rounds is a lot of threads to look at sometimes, so maybe the ones near the bottom get left out sometimes?

Thanks

Interesting indeed… the number of voters go from 305 to 323 (for now)… which bring the % of the votes for my own entry down a little lol
