Excellent progress :-*
One possible option for filling in between the wood might be to PVA the surface and sprinkle baking powder onto it.  It's a fairly subtle effect but might be a lot easier than plastering?

possibly, might test on a lesser building first with pva as a bond then polyfilla flush with the wood,
then scratch a bit away from the edge of the wood after might work, i am playing around with
Hirst Art moulds at the moment to make a small castle for the town but this is turning out to be quite
large in plan anyway, havnt built anything yet, only cast so far !

Fantastic looking buildings - real labours of love. I am looking forward to seeing the completed versions displayed together as a town.

Well i have been busy playing around with Hirst Arts moulds the last month and have started
a castle project, this will fit in a 3 foot by 2 foot area, 4 towers and a gatehouse plus a keep with a great
hall, so basic enough
Hirst Arts is totally different to what i am used to as i usually build a superstructure plus roof
out of 3mm mdf and then clad it appropriately, with plaster moulds you are actually building the
structure brick by brick or stone by stone plus casting all of the material so a massive undertaking,
i chose this system because i wanted to put models inside the building with a realistic look inside
without cladding inside too plus a realistic thickness to the walls, this might turn into a fantasy project with a town guard of Averlanders roaming the town, anyway here are some photos with
Artizan designs figs and my cat Cosmo for scale who photobombed my session as usual !

thanks AKULA, yes my painting cue is getting rather large, this is only quarter of the castle so will be
a lot of casting to go

Splendid start. That’s going to look great.

You’d never want to drop any item of wargames scenery, but you certainly wouldn’t want to drop one made of plaster  :o
I had a ‘Linka’ set many years ago, and made some nice houses. Dropped one of those on the floor once. Shattered to a million pieces. Plaster everywhere.

You take care now! ;)
