Wrong universe but fitting for Armor.

I like those a lot! The GW rangers are some of my favorites from their lines, but these have a lot more character/ visual interest to me. Great jobs on the conversions and painting.

I really like what you have done with the conversions - and the paint jobs really set them off nicely. Great work.

Right-o, back with some Rohan scenery. As I think I've mentioned back when I built the great hall, I got the Rohan settlement from GW when it was last available. It has six Rohan house kits as well as two sets of walls and towers. You've seen the towers and I'm about halfway through painting the walls. When it comes to the houses, converting the Great Hall takes four kits worth of roof pieces, but a lot less in walls, meaning I have plenty bits to spare.

I built this stables from just a single kit, a simple conversion leaving one wall off, adding some horse head posts and sticking two bits of fence inside. I found some 3D print horses in standing positions, but they are super low detail so not giving you any closeups.

And then I put together some surplus walls into an L-shaped building and made a roof out of plasticard. This is intended as a farmhouse, possibly the main residental building on a farm or a larger house in the small town with a little vegetable patch outside. The roof is covered in dirt texture as I'm going to be doing a Norwegian-style grass roof.

What do you think?

Brilliant. Love that set. I am doing the Rohan Royal Studfarm atm.

A little cheeky double post with the medieval forum, as these figures are intended both for my Pagan Rus SAGA army, and for my Rohirrim. In Middle Earth terms they are woodsmen from southern Mirkwood, who sometimes trade with, and can be paid to work for the Eorlingas. Since I use the Rohirrim as Ostrogoths or Lombards for SAGA, I have several options for mercenaries equipped with javelins and I have been meaning to build some for a long time now. Happily my Pagan Rus also like javelin mercenaries, so time has come.

After staring at bits for a while, I settled on Victrix bodies and heads, trying for heads with bandanas if possible, and fireforge Almughavar arms for those nice chopping knives. Should be handy for clearing out undergrowth. Added Javelins from WGA's Irish kit and Victrix norman cavalry.

I agree, those are excellent! The parts certainly work together now that they’re stuck on!

And here they are painted. Always love to paint some muted browns and dull greens.

Bases got some extra touches; same dark brown sand as usual, but spots of Geek Gaming Scenics' Pine Floor mix, and then some tufts and a few fallen leaves.

Those turned out great, just what I imagine woodsmen in a place like Mirkwood should look like! The large knives/ small swords really fit the look, too, sort of like machetes, except for a northern forest rather than a jungle.

Thank you!

Not much hobbying done since finishing the scouts, but I did recieve my Dungeons & Lasers encounters package the other day with just a staggering amount of plastics. I decided to assemble the biggest plastic figure I have ever seen to start, their tarrasque mini (hard to even call it a mini to be honest). Went together really easily, just a few little gaps to consider filling.

V&V Irish Fian for scale.

Woah! When I glanced at the pic I didn’t notice the fian next to it, then I looked again and did a double take. That thing is enormous!

Finished a few reinforcements for the Rohirrim. Finally found that lost leg I mentioned somewhere up thread and was able to build the last Turcopole-based Rider. Then I realized 20 is a much better number of warriors in SAGA than 18, and remembered that I still had these two obscure russian models based on the Three Bogatyr painting, that I had lightly converted a few years ago and then left. Their third friend leads a unit of horse archers for Oathmark, but these two have languished.

They already had basecoats on their metallics and the horses, so went really quickly. A little heavily armoured for warriors, but they'll look fine as part of a unit.

Wow as ever to your talents.

Wonder when the tarrasque will come to retail at North Star
