I declare this an 'Ingin Town now!

Next time TBC next time...

If ever there were a case of "this town ain't big enough for the...three of us..." that was it!  Sounds like a good time.  I love One Eyed Jack.  Whenever possible, I like the "creation" of characters by accident and I like using them in future adventures.  The Old West was unique in that it was very possible to run into the same folks months or years apart - just by pure luck, so why not?

The town wasn't big enough and I got kicked out for the second time. The animals and civilians in the game get involved as our models get within 1" of them. We roll a D6 and a 1 is mostly negative and a 6 positive (except for the vulture... he just loves blood). One Eyed Jack has a -1 on to hit rolls for the rest of his (short) life  lol.

I know, late to the party, but I just have to say -  half way through with filling your corral with cattle?  Looks pretty full to me.  But not for long.  One of them "dawgies" is going to push some of those boards out and then they'll be heading from greener pastures.  Now don't go rebuilding, but beef cattle are strong enough to push those boards out, nails and all, and then there will be hell to pay.  That's why corrals are built with the boards on the side of the post closest to the cows - so they don't push the boards out.  Well, actually, the better corrals had boards on both sides of the posts.  And, yeah, I've been doing my research.

But otherwise, nice work as always.

I wasn't aware of that but it makes sense cows are very strong... Well I guess we get a lot of stampedes in our games  lol I am thinking of some rules for stampedes should be fun  :D

Now stop it!
 :D

That isn't going to happen  :D lol

Za

A lovely game indeed, despite Jack losing an eye. 8) I was pleased to be able to rescue one of the women and not be as utterly useless as I usually am. Za, I like the new set up of the town and that station should look very lovely when you've painted it. What you need now is a guy in a chair and a fly... lol

Great AAR.
I have also played a FistFull of Lead game this week-end with two of my three sons (12 and 8 ) and it is a very easy set of rules, understandable by the younger ones and easily learnt by kids. We had great fun. Thanks Za for pointing out this set of rules.

Hi Treebeard, I can imagine it is great fun to play this games with your kids. The rules are very simple and easy to understand and yet everything is possible. If you are interested I made a weather chard to add to the fun.

Maybe I'm just cheap, but I don't understand why gamers don't make their own buildings anymore.  I have been soundly bitten by Old West Fever, but I'll be damned if I'm going to pay decent money for buildings.  I can see spending the money if it is a club project or a demo game for a show, but for a weekly get togehter, I'd rather spend the money on more figures.
Just my few cents for what they are worth.

I hand build a lot of stuff, but the pre-made buildings save me a lot of time --- and I don't think I'd save much money buying the materials and spending the time making them.  The quality is often quite a bit better than what I'd manage.

Unless it's an interest of yours - you don't save much actual money.

When I get the time.... my plan is to make a bit more of a 'ghost town' 'abandoned town' that looks a little more decrepit.  I lived in Arizona and have some great pictures of abandoned towns that are perfect inspiration.  That said, I think I can really only do it by scratch build....
