Thanks for all the encouraging comments guys :)

Enthusiasm for the Sensei has picked up a bit in the Oldhammer crowd since January, so I decided to (pass my Initiative test and) jump on the bandwagon.  The goal was to get a figure ready for an upcoming silly multi-player Sensei game called "The Quickening" at an Oldhammer get together in August.  Any excuse to do terrible (really terrible) Sean Connery impershunashunsh while gaming will be jumped at :)

I saw a "Rogue Trader" (the character type) conversion recently that had the guys attached servo skull wearing the traders space-bicorne hat.  It really amused, so it struck me as a good way to 40K-ify this obviously fantasy figure in a way that would also allow me to tie it in with the Ramirez look as defined by the movie.  The space-peacock feathered floppy hat on the servo skull tickles me.  Its easily my favourite part of the miniature.

Thanks for all the feedback.  Im tempted to add a few weirdo companions to this guy now, just for laughs.  I have other things that I should be painting really, but some oddballs who have to endure 42,000 years of boring "Did I ever tell you about the time..." stories from space Sean Connery is just too tempting...

Thanks for the further encouragement folks!

Reading about the Sensei last week put me in the mood to paint up some more oddballs for this project. According to the old Realm of Chaos: Lost and the Damned book Sensei are sometimes accompanied by particularly angst-ridden members on the Eldar, so I painted this guy - "L'Oreal Wangst" - yesterday.

Things dont get much more angsty than having a dog sized parasitic alien that makes your nose fall off fused to your arm I guess.

The absence of a nose is actually due to the model being miscast, but I think that it worked out alright anyway, if a bit Michael Jackson-y.

More info and photos on the blog as usual.

The missing nose is actually a pretty good look for him
