Blimey, those staircases down into the dark. That is some ominous stuff right there! I absolutely loooove your setup! If I ever end up in a big enough house, I am sure to do something similar! :D

How is Otherworld for solo gaming?  Is there any sort of AI mechanic for monsters and baddies?

There is no official Solo mechanic discussed in the rules, however with the
Adventure Card system  and way the game  handles 1wandering monsters. You can easily setup a random dungeon crawl against a group of adventurers . You will have to roll initiative ,distribute fate and roll dice for both sides thou.

How does the game handle wandering monsters that would make it solo-friendly?  Do wandering monsters have some sort of AI rules?

No AI. its just a random deployment via adventure cards mixed with other events like treasure, traps etc,,,it doesnt do what your looking for but it can fake it OK
its definitely not developed as a solo game,  if you go back to report I did a way back called "burn baby burn" I played a solo game when the opposing faction was deployed as a wandering monsters in a dungeon crawl, so I didnt know what or when I going to get hit with what ever. but once the bad guys are on table you have to do everything for both sides

Your stuff is awesome! I've recently started playing Otherworld Skirmish as well and have been really impressed with the rules. I hope they come out with an expansion sometime.

Okay, good to know!  I'm really interested in Otherworld - I understand it's based off an iteration of the 7TV system?  But I'm currently bereft of a gaming group, so I'm focusing on games with solo/co-op mechanics at the moment.  Thanks for the answers!
