And for little campaigns I made a couple of Martian Sandworms.  I actually painted these some time back, but I touched up the bases to match up a little better.

What manufacturer is the worms?

Also I think the project is coming along real fine.

They are Purple Worms (repainted) from the D&D collectibles prepaints.

And while I still have my Steam Infantry to finish, I felt like finishing a Martian, just to prove I can - mind you, it is about 3 years after I traded for them, but better late than never.

This beauty is from Bronze Age - still some of the best John Carter models out there.

And another quick update - my new Askari mountain guns.  I decided to get a selection, as I wanted a bit of a hodgepodge due to the Norwegian forces being, well, viking-ish in their rampant acquisition of other country's weaponry.  So, there are 2 Italian 75mm, 2 French 80mm, and 1 Krupp field piece.  They feel small to me, but a lot of that is that I am used to the oversized GW and PP weapons.

And as I have said elsewhere, they are exquisite pieces.

And I dragged off of my shelf my conversion of a Star Wars Desert Skiff into a Martian Skimmer, touched up some paint on it, and took a picture of it for y'all.

And the latest from my madness.

I couldn't decide what to use for buildings, and how they would live.  So, I have decided that they would be living in the ruins of an ancient city, but not necessarily in the ruins.  With a bit of clay, and some wooden frames, they build small buildings - these are what I am going to use for the working classes and soldiers.

You'd never guess what they started life as.

And as well, I have wholeheartedly stolen someone else's idea for objectives.

Close.  Hydrogen peroxide bottles. I use it to keep my hot tub clean (no chemicals that way), and the last batch I bought was in square bottles, so I should be able to put together at least 10 or so of these buildings to mix in with the more elegant Martian buildings I am making.

Excellent, and you use both halves! How earth friendly!  lol

They do turn out better than I'd have thought.

With what did you cover them?

The two on the left were coated in a mix of paint and sand pre-mixed.  The two on the right were painted with a mix of paint and glue, and then pressed into the sand, which I actually like better.

And the next to last of my military units for the Norwegians  (I have a single cannon team left) - the incredibly heavy and unwieldy Steam Armor, with the ever-effective Tesla Hammers.

And a fortress I recently put together from an ancient wooden castle I picked up back in the early nineties.

And another old piece - this is one of those Epicast expanded foam buildings they sold back in the 90's, but I have always liked the look of it, and finally talked my local game store into letting me pick it up for a song from the store terrain.

So now I can have town-based scenarios. Once I get my civilians painted up, we'll be in business!

Well, I'll have to admit the castle brought me up short, a bit, but only a bit...  lol

Love the lads in gray, though I'd think the lack of stealth will making getting close with the Teslas problematic. Glorious lunacy!

"Sar! Our bullets just bounce off them!" "Jenkins! Where did you leave our mountain guns?!" "No problem, your lardship. I left them loaded and p'inted in JUST the right d'rection..."

Have you been putting any of this great work to use, and keeping AAR's from us?

Doug
