As for Cowboys: i went for some foot and mounted Foundry figures being sold on the Bazaar.
A little on the small side, but should be fine.

Mason, I have some left over Black Scorpion Cowboys. They are resin and to be honest not the best of casts (that is why I bought them again in metal  lol). It are 12 or 13 miniatures and 1 is missing a hand. You can have them if you like. PM me your address and I will put them in an envelope (just refund me the postage).

I absolutely agree with the detritus being a huge component to fleshing a table out.  I always set up my tables in a certain order: terrain (hills/rivers, etc.)...major buildings...then major foliage and then detritus to flush it all out.

Very nice PJ on the detritus Elbows. I see we both like our apples in red  lol. Love the idea of the market stand type of table.

Za

Za,

Sucks that you got some of the poor-resin cowboys.  I did too - sold them all, and just re-ordered in the new resin (much better).  If they ship me old-resin ones, I'll be returning them.  Black Scorpion was good about sending me a free pack of 4 miniatures to show me the new resin.  The old ones I purchased were nothing short of...white, chalky and crumbly.

The new ones are more Forgeworld - darker grey and much better casts/quality.  I still don't like resin, but my latest order basically gives me almost the entire Black Scorpion range. (gulp)

I have the same ainsty stuff and have done mine up in a very similar fashion.

The irony is that I too have that stuff from Ainsty (food in crates pack).
I bought it last year at SELWG for 1920's Strange Aeons and Pulp gaming, but I had better base in such a way as to be used in any genre, as it can be.
Good thing that I had not gotten around to it yet.
 :D

Ainstey is the best. I took some photo's. Off course after the game because I forgot to take some during the game.
Not that good in writing AAR's sorry...

In the middle of the board there was a stranded card with gold. Groove51 played the Pinkerton trying to take the gold to the bank, TBC the Indians and I played the Outlaws. The objective was to pick up as many loot as possible and take it to the nearst table edge. Groove and I dashed towards the loot and killing each other in the mean time. TBC was more patient and killed us one by one and the Indians took the loot and the women (without suffering any casualties). Lets just call it beginners luck ::). Just to let you know, not one peace of gold left the board  lol.

Thank you and western gaming is fun, we had a great laugh and a great play. And it is an extra to play at a fully painted table, it makes it more enjoyable. Now I just have to paint up some miniatures lol. Oh and finish my corral (I nicked your idea Elbows :D)

Sorry Elbows didn't see this remark. We use Fist Full of Lead. A quick and fun skirmish ruleset.
