Thank you Elbows. He is from a BlackScorpion set no longer made (Tombstone 7 IIRC). Well it is not on their website anymore. There is also a dog, a paperboy, a drunk and a guy with a guitar in it. It is a shame because it is a nice set. I bought it a few months ago from Battlefieldberlin, they retail BS and I emailed them if they had any miniatures in metal left. This was one of the sets I could buy in metal.

this is the dog in the set.

Okay, I thought that might be it - I remember that set.  If you ever stumble upon one let me know.  I just painted up some new Black Scorpion civilians...and did a horrible job.  I knew I wasn't in a painting mood, but did them anyway.  :(

Wow!
That was quite an update, Za!

The Bum (I think that name suits him best...) is a lovely sculpt, gotta love those strides, has a great paintjob and those cows work perfectly.

Ertl, you say?
Have to keep an eye open for some.
 ;)

The Undertakers does look so much better with those shingles.
 :-*

Have you thought of making some shingles yourself?
A simple matter of some card strips and cutting out the odd angles.
 ;)

That station and hotel are on my list of possible future purchases.
The way you fellas are going I will probably be corrupted into buying everything anyway, so I do not know why I am bothering to say 'possible'.....

Love your work Za. You've inspired me quite a bit in getting my own western models up and moving.

Re: the Black Scorpion stuff, they've pulled many of the models from the site to retool them for resin. So they may end up with that set available before to long. They've just recently brought back the Apache sets thankfully :D

@ Mason: Thank you very much for the compliments. About the shingles, they came lasercut on an A4 sheet of cardboard for only 2 pounds. As I have a busy job and family life I tend to make the hobby as easy as possible and for this kind of money I just thought to give it a try. http://war-bases.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=107_119. It was a win win situation. very cheap, saved a lot of time and just a brilliant product  :D.

The cows I bought from ebay, they are only available from the states. They are useful but they are cheap plastic farm toys... but put close together they look nice enough. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PACKAGE-of-25-1-64-S-Scale-ERTL-HEREFORD-Cows-Calfs-Cattle-NIP-/400459744840?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item5d3d42c648

And like Elbows said... STOP RESISTING BUY A LOT OF OLD WEST AND BLAME ME  lol

@ Treebeard: Thank you and yes there is more to come. This started a few months ago as a smallish project and it just seems to keep growing...

@Bellygrub: I am glad I could inspire you. I would love to see your work here on LAF

TooBooCoo, Groove51 and myself had a great game today. TBC made some pictures (as I forgot my camera off course  o_o) as soon as I get them in I will post a short AAR. It was a real fun game with some brilliant twists and turns (and a brutal murder on a damsel in distress)...

Za

Things are looking good. Who makes the cases you have with undertaker?

The shingle certainly adds something as well, another job to add the list!

Za: I AM going to give in soon, no doubt about that.

Now watching those cows on my ebay and fully sympathise with the time issue regarding the shingle.
At that price it would be criminal to say no!

Once the small matter of Salute and smattering of VSF Japanese are out of the way I shall be making a move into making some scenery for Old West to add to the buildings that I recently bought.

I think that you may be surprised how quickly my town will come together once I get started.
 ;)

The cases are made by 6milphil. It is a set of 13 cases/boxes. Great quality and a real must have. http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=51245.0

Here is a picture of them painted.

Today we played a game of Fist Full of Lead. Last time TBC won with his indians and Groove (playing Pinkerton) and I (playing Outlaws) got beaten. We decided to continue this "scenario" this game.

TBC and his Indians captured the two women and the loot and hide in the saloon (bad call... firewater...). The Pinkerton and the Outlaw entered from the other table sides. The Pinkerton wanted to rescue the women I wanted the gold...
To make a long story short. The Outlaws entered the saloon an masse and the indians seemed to be all drunk. TBC rolled 10 to 15 ones on shooting resulting in as many reloads (taking a full turn to reload so that is really really bad). It was hilarious. The Pinkerton also screwed up and it seemed like the Outlaws would win the day.... But then the chances took a turn to the worst. I wanted to "clean" the room and one of the hostages was in the way. I shot her and rolled a maximum damage (full-blown headshot)... bad for the karma. From that moment on the Indians sobered up and shot the Outlaws one by one. The Pinkerton managed to rescue the other hostage but in the end they also got killed by the Indians... again. (bad luck in close combat there Groove)
Most hilarious moment was when one of the Pinkerton got wounded within 1" of Herman the Vulture which meant he smelled blood. Groove rolled a six and the Pinkerton lost his eye to Herman, we named him One Eyed Jack.

In the end the Indians killed us all again and still own Hickory Flat. It took them a few rounds to get sobered up but then they hit everything.
We had a lot of fun and it was a great game. I must admit I am not that good at writing AAR's but I hope I captured the most important moments of the game.

TBC took some quick pictures (Thanks for that). Just to give you an idea about the layout.

the start of the game, where the Pinkerton are behind the buildings on the right and the Outlaws advance on the left towards the Saloon.

It is getting crowded in the Saloon.

All in all a really nice game and we had a blast.

Regards,
Za

I declare this an 'Ingin Town now!

I must admit, there were a few moments when my drunk Braves just couldn't manage to load more than one round in the rifles... but then they got the show rollin!

It was a great game, and first I thought the Outlaws would do me in, and then when a wounded One Eye Jack decided to slap around one of the Braves.... things could have turned against me again... But all was 'saved', but not if you ask the town folks... >:)

Thanks for a great game guys!

If ever there were a case of "this town ain't big enough for the...three of us..." that was it!  Sounds like a good time.  I love One Eyed Jack.  Whenever possible, I like the "creation" of characters by accident and I like using them in future adventures.  The Old West was unique in that it was very possible to run into the same folks months or years apart - just by pure luck, so why not?

I know, late to the party, but I just have to say -  half way through with filling your corral with cattle?  Looks pretty full to me.  But not for long.  One of them "dawgies" is going to push some of those boards out and then they'll be heading from greener pastures.  Now don't go rebuilding, but beef cattle are strong enough to push those boards out, nails and all, and then there will be hell to pay.  That's why corrals are built with the boards on the side of the post closest to the cows - so they don't push the boards out.  Well, actually, the better corrals had boards on both sides of the posts.  And, yeah, I've been doing my research.

But otherwise, nice work as always.

Perhaps the guys aiming to steal some cattle were the ones who built the corral... ;)
