Workshop: Struttendorf, part 24.

After the initial preparation of the building model from the City Ruins and Town Ruins sets from Kromlech, it was time to build some additional terrain elements.

First up were the bastion/redoubt models, which I built from styrodur, coffee sticks, bamboo strips and clay bricks.

Today the second of the building model, which looks as follows.

I recommend the All-in-One Modulart Art Box – Ultra from KRYDRUFI, review HERE, shop LINK, discount code QUIDAM.

Wow, great detail! I love how practical each piece is for figure placement, too.

Thank you. :)

Workshop: Struttendorf, part 25.

After the initial preparation of the building model from the City Ruins and Town Ruins sets from Kromlech, it was time to build some additional terrain elements.

Today I have for you photos of the monument on which the statue of the founder of the city of Struttendorf was - I used the Ottokar von Struttendorf Memorial Statue from Dunkeldorf Miniatures, which you could see HERE.

In turn, you can find a guide about making candles HERE.

I built the rest so that the style would match the previously presented ruins.

Workshop: Struttendorf, part 26.

It's hard to present a river in progress in an impressive way, especially when it's partially painted black.

Either way, it was supposed to be a short river running from one edge of the table to the other, but in the end, a few extra modules were added.

There's also a river bridge from Kromlech.eu included in the set.

Next week, I’ll show you how I built the river.

Tutorial: River.

🔧 “Build a river,” they said. “It’s easy,” they said…

So I built one. Last week I showed you how it turned out — and now you can do it too!

A brand new hobby tutorial just dropped on the DansE MacabrE blog, where I walk you through the process of building a river for tabletop wargames — perfect for Warheim FS, but just as useful on the grim and plastic ruins of Mordheim, Frostgrave, or any other misery simulator you play.

Inside the post:

materials as cheap as a politician’s promises,

more photos than your average influencer’s trip to the supermarket,

and zero arcane knowledge — just the right amount to qualify as a Facebook expert!

💬 Link below. And once you've read the guide — go make your own river.
As a certain dwarven cartographer once said:
“If you don’t build it yourself, your opponent will flood the battlefield with beer.”

Workshop: Struttendorf, part 27.

Today on the DansE MacabrE blog I have some photos for you of an upgraded river bridge from Kromlech.eu.

I added sections made of clay bricks and tiles, and covered the surface with trimmed wooden planks, which I will later weather and add signs of use to.

After valorizing the model, the river bridge looks as follows.

That looks very good...! The completely anal retentive person would make the brick plinths magnetic or metal, and then create different decorations that can be swapped out depending on what era or type of game you're playing.  o_o

Missing the brass hippos reference, though...  :D

Discworld - the bridge in Ankh-Morpork has massive brass hippos on it, which are, according to legend (and if memory serves), supposed to run away if the city is invaded.

Ahh, I read only a couple of the short stories, and didn't remember that nugget. Thank you for clearing that up...

Workshop: Struttendorf, part 28.

Work on the terrain pieces from Kromlech.eu, which I’m using to build my Struttendorf town for Warheim FS, is ongoing.

One of the stages involved covering the XPS with flower soil mixed with wood glue, and adding wall sections made from pieces of wallpaper, which I lightly scorched for effect.

For now, this is how the terrain piece looks.

Will we see some paint on those pieces and terrain boards?
